Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address both views and state a clear opinion: history helps students understand past events, while science and technology contribute to modern life and employment. Relevant examples, such as medical scanning and online learning, support your position. This meets the task well, and your conclusion reinforces your preference. However, some points are less fully explained than others. The history example about the Roman-Persian war does not clearly show what lesson students learn, and the medical examples are listed without explaining how scientific advances help patients. To strengthen the response further, develop each example with a clear cause-and-effect explanation and make the comparison between the subjects more explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0

The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. The progression from history to science and technology is easy to follow, and signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. This is a strong organisational foundation. Some links within paragraphs are less smooth, however, and a few references are unclear—for example, “These types of disease can other can easily scanable” makes the intended relationship difficult to follow. The second body paragraph also moves quickly from medical advances to education and employment. Use clearer sentence-level connections and explain how each example supports the paragraph’s main point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “social movements,” “critical thinking,” “medical,” “innovation,” and “employment opportunities,” so the reader can identify the main ideas. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are frequent and sometimes make meaning difficult to recover: “essentail,” “tenhnology,” “grater,” and “scanable” are examples. Several phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, such as “the contemporary society science and technology” and “solve their doubts.” This limits the range and control of vocabulary despite attempts to use subject-specific terms. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations, such as “scientific and technological advances,” “access information online,” and “develop critical-thinking skills.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “because,” “which,” and “who,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, some grammatical errors affect clarity. For example, “history is an crucial subjects” has article and number-agreement problems, while “science and technology has” and “technology play” show subject–verb agreement errors. Sentence construction is also faulty in “These types of disease can other can easily scanable,” and several sentences omit necessary verbs or use incomplete patterns. Work on accurate basic sentence frames first, then extend them with subordinate clauses. Check articles, singular and plural forms, and subject–verb agreement in each sentence.
