Student answer (Band 5.5)

Few people think that History is one of the most important school subjects. Other people think that at the present time world subjects like Science and technology are more crucial than history. Although both views have their merits, I believe that Science and technology are more important because new inventions and easy life.

On the one hand, there are many people support the former statement because of get chance to know about past time. This is due to the fact that when children learn history subject in school they mostly learn about how people survive in the earlier time and the wars. They get opportunity to what people think in their past time and how people gradually modern. For instance, In DPS school in Amritsar history subject are significant because student want to learn about the previous time. Therefore, people become more knowledgeable.

On the other hand, I believe that the latter point of view give major reason that is new discoveries. This means that if student learn science and technology then they become more interested in these subject in the future life they invent new things for universe which will be more useful. Another reason given by them is easy life. To justify, If students learn new subject and they can easily understand the AI technology and spend easy life in future. Thus, people become more interested in modern technology.

To conclude, even though there are many people support the history subject more important, I believe that science and technology significant because of new inventions and easy life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You discuss both views and state a clear preference for science and technology, giving relevant reasons such as learning about the past, making discoveries, and improving daily life. However, these points are brief and sometimes unclear: the example of DPS school does not explain how studying history benefits students, while the claim that technology creates an “easy life” needs a specific illustration. The conclusion repeats your position rather than extending it. The response is also 12 words below the required 250-word minimum; the 21 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop each main reason with a clearer explanation and a relevant example to address the task more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “To conclude” helps readers follow the discussion. However, connections within paragraphs are sometimes mechanical, and some references are unclear. For example, “the former statement” and “the latter point of view” require readers to recall which view is meant, while “This means that” does not clearly connect the preceding claim to its explanation. The ideas also move quickly from learning science to inventing things and then to AI without enough linking. Use clearer references and build each paragraph around a more steadily developed sequence of ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “wars,” “new discoveries,” “AI technology,” and “modern technology.” Some phrases also show an attempt to express more specific concepts, such as “gradually modern.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, which can make meaning less clear. For instance, “easy life” is repeated, “new things for universe” is imprecise, and “previous time” is an unnatural way to refer to the past. Aim for more precise academic expressions and vary repeated wording. Check that phrases sound natural in context, rather than translating ideas word for word.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a concession in “Although both views have their merits” and a conditional structure beginning “if student learn science and technology.” These attempts show some range, but complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. Examples include “there are many people support,” “because of get chance,” and “history subject are significant,” which have problems with clause structure, verb forms, or agreement. Articles and plurals are also inconsistent, as in “if student” and “these subject.” Practise forming complete clauses and checking subject–verb agreement, articles, and plural nouns. More accurate control of these patterns would make your ideas easier to follow.
