Student answer (Band 5.5)

IT is commanly belived by few individuals history is more important for students.while others think that science and technology subjects are more benefical for them.In this essay i will discuss both pints and also give my opinion.

On the one hand, there are some reasons why people say history is important is that students have chance to get knowladge about there culture and traditions because in history have a great information about every religions culture and traditions like clothes, style, language and also festivels which is imfortant because nowaday every person have busy scadhule that is way they can not give time to their children.second reason is that they can know about the wars of their country and get imformation about there reasons why the occur and it also work as motivation.

On the other hand, there are some reasons why people think that science and technology is more imfortant in schools is that modren era which totaly depend on technology gedgets such as AI roborts which is very famuos and only those individuals can use this who have knowladge about how can control on technology and how they can understand there words to AI.second reason is that need some good and experience doctors which only can possible when students have a great knowladge about science For example with the help of science individuls can know about healh problems such as heart atteck, suger and can know about its treatments.

In conclusion, few individuals say history is important becouse of cultural and traditional knowladge.others say science and technology is more important for become doctor. I completly agree with both points because both are important.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both sides of the question by discussing cultural and historical knowledge, then the practical value of science and technology, and you give a personal view in the conclusion. However, the position is not fully clear: “I completely agree with both points” does not explain how you weigh the two subjects or whether you consider them equally important. Some ideas are relevant but under-developed. For example, you mention learning about wars, but do not explain how this knowledge benefits students; the point about doctors is supported with examples of health problems, though the link to school science could be clearer. State a precise opinion in the introduction and conclusion, then extend each main reason with a clear explanation or example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, one paragraph for each viewpoint, and a conclusion. The signposts “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the discussion. Within paragraphs, however, ideas sometimes run together, and links between claims are not always clear. The history paragraph moves from culture and traditions to busy schedules and then to wars without explaining how these points connect. The science paragraph similarly shifts from AI to doctors. Some linking phrases, such as “second reason,” are repetitive and mechanical. Improve progression by giving each paragraph a clear topic sentence, developing one reason at a time, and using pronouns or linking expressions only where their reference is clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “culture and traditions,” “wars,” “technology,” “AI,” and “treatments,” so the main ideas can generally be understood. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, such as “get knowledge,” “a great information,” and “control on technology.” Repeated use of “important” and “know” also makes the expression less precise. Spelling errors—including “commanly,” “benefical,” and “modren”—are noticeable and sometimes slow the reader. Build a more accurate range by learning common academic combinations and checking spelling, while choosing precise terms such as “historical knowledge,” “cultural heritage,” and “technological skills.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including explanations with “because” and examples introduced by “For example.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors in sentence boundaries, agreement, articles, and verb forms make some passages difficult to read. For instance, “there are some reasons why people say history is important is that” has an incomplete, tangled structure, while “science and technology is more important” has a subject–verb agreement problem. Several sentences also run together without appropriate punctuation. Practise building clear sentences around one main clause, then add a subordinate clause accurately. Check agreement, articles, and punctuation, and use capital letters consistently at the start of sentences and for “I.”
