Student answer (Band 6.5)
Some individuals contend that History is one of the most vital subject of school curriculum. Others argue that in the modern epoch, subjects like Science and Technology hold paramount importance compared to History. I belive in the latter view as studying science and technology gives students more employment opportunities than history. In the upcoming concussions, I have shreded a light on both the views and included my opinion at the end.
On one hand, studying History gives students better understanding of the culture and traditions followed by their ancestors. This helps them to preserve them and learn moral ethics like honesty, lyality and truthfulness. Therefore, studying history holds significant importance. Furthermore, studying history gives information about the past mistakes which caused riots, wars and led to many unfortunate consequences like death of people. Having such information, individuals would refrain from repeating the same mistaskes ensuring a peaceful enironment. For example, studying insights of 2nd world war has helped nations not to repeat the mistakes done in it and stop the proliferating chances of 3rd world war.
On the other hand, Science and Technology have emerged as a key factors for today`s contemporary and fast pacing world. Studying principles regarding to them gives students better employment opportunities. This is because, companies are despirateky looking for professionals in It field which are a sine qua non for technological advancements. Acquiring a great knowledge and skill in this field has helped many students to secure a job with stable income, great personal and professional life balance and also a satisfactory jobs. Whrereas in the field of history, there are low chances of finding such jobs. Hence, studying science is of more importance than history.
In my opinion, studying science and technology not only providesone better job opportunities but also help nations to curb the severe shortage of doctors and engineers. These professionals are needed to alleviate public health along side the burgeoning demand for infrastructural development. Therefore, it contributes in overall development of the nation more significantlty than History.
To conclude, studying history has a good societal benefit of sticking to culture and avoid further mistakes. However, the advantages of science and technology like better employment opportunity and overall development of nation are of paramount importance.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
You address both perspectives and state a clear position in favour of science and technology, which is maintained through the discussion and conclusion. The history paragraph gives relevant reasons—cultural understanding and learning from past conflicts—and the Second World War example supports the latter point. You also explain the employment and national-development benefits of science-related study. These ideas are extended with reasons, although some claims are broad: for example, the assertion that studying history has helped nations avoid another world war would be stronger with a more precise explanation or example. The point about shortages of doctors and engineers is relevant but could be linked more explicitly to what students learn at school. More specific support would make the argument more fully developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for each view, your opinion, and a conclusion. The progression from the benefits of history to those of science and technology is easy to follow, and signposts such as “On one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “To conclude” help readers navigate the argument. Some linking is rather formulaic, and the introduction’s promise to discuss both views and give an opinion repeats what the essay itself does rather than advancing the argument. There is also a slightly abrupt shift from employment prospects to national development in the opinion paragraph. Use transitions that show the relationship between ideas, and connect each paragraph’s examples more directly to its main claim.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a broad range of vocabulary, including “paramount importance,” “preserve,” “consequences,” and “infrastructural development,” which helps express the topic. However, inaccurate word choice, collocation, word forms, and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make the writing less natural. Examples include “upcoming concussions” for conclusions, “shreded a light” for shed light, “despirateky,” and “satisfactory jobs.” Phrases such as “fast pacing world” and “principles regarding to them” also show limited control of natural combinations. These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding your main points, but relying on simpler, accurate phrasing would be more effective than using ambitious expressions without checking their form and meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because,” “which,” and “while,” and most ideas remain understandable. Some grammatical errors persist in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence construction. For instance, “one of the most vital subject” needs a plural noun, while “Science and Technology have emerged as a key factors” has a mismatch between the article and plural noun. In “not only provides one better job opportunities but also help nations,” the verb forms and parallel structure need correction. There are also awkward constructions such as “principles regarding to them.” Review agreement and parallel forms, and proofread sentence patterns; greater accuracy would make your varied structures more controlled.
