Student answer (Band 5.0)
Some individuals argue that history is one of the most crucial school subjects. Other individuals believe that in now days world subject like Science and technology are more essential than history. In this essay i will discuss both views and my opinion is that Science and technology are more crucial school subjects then history.
To begin with, some people think history is most important subject then other. Because if we do not study about history so we cannot know about invention. For example, if we did not study the history of gravity so we cannot understand the theory of gravity as a result history is also improtant as well as other subject.
Moreover, some individuals think science and technology is more essential then history because science and technology play an improtant role in over daily life. For example if we do not considerate on science and technology would lead to lower life expectancies, the loss of morden mechicine, and return to basic or manual survival methods. as a result collapse of civilization or societal collapse.
In conclusion, according to my perspective science and technology is more crucial subjects than history in school because now days to learn modran technology is more improtant than history because if you did not know about modran technology you cannot servive in the world.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both views and state your position clearly: you explain that history can help people understand discoveries, while science and technology support modern life, and you conclude in favour of the latter. However, the discussion is only partial and the ideas remain under-developed. The example about gravity is unclear: studying its history does not explain why people could not understand the theory without it. The science paragraph lists possible consequences, such as “lower life expectancies” and “collapse of civilization,” but does not explain these links or give a specific example. The response is also 31 words below the required minimum. Develop each view with a clearer explanation and a relevant, specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “To begin with,” “Moreover,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the intended order. However, progression within paragraphs is limited: the history paragraph moves quickly from studying history to gravity without making the connection clear, while the science paragraph ends with a fragment beginning “as a result.” Repeated use of “some individuals think” and “as a result” also makes cohesion mechanical. Build each paragraph around one main point, explain it step by step, and use referencing or linking phrases only where they clarify the relationship between ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main contrast, including “school subjects,” “theory of gravity,” “life expectancies,” and “manual survival methods.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make parts difficult to interpret. For example, “in now days world” and “morden mechicine” are unclear, while “considerate on science” does not express the intended meaning naturally. The repeated use of “important” and “crucial” also limits variety. Aim to learn accurate subject-related collocations and check spelling carefully; more precise wording will make your explanations easier to follow.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer sentences using “because,” “if,” and “as a result,” and the basic message is generally understandable. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and complex attempts often contain errors. For example, “Because if we do not study about history so we cannot know” combines several linking structures incorrectly, and “science and technology is more essential” has a subject–verb agreement error. The final sentence also shifts between “you” and a general claim without a clear grammatical pattern. Punctuation and capitalisation are inconsistent, particularly after full stops. Practise forming accurate conditional sentences and check agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries before adding more complex structures.
