Student answer (Band 5.0)
In recent years, school subject history has become widely discussed around the world. Nowadays, many people are concerned about this issue. This is an important topic because it affects individuals and society in different ways
On the first hand, it is often argued that giving priority to other subjects like science and computer but not giving that much priority to history subject. In my opinion, I will disagree with this point of view. This is because, history is also an important subject. The teachers should taught this subject in school and ranking equal level. For example, if a student is good in math and physics but do not know the history, is like a person with wearing a book without any books in it.
On the other hand, people become more aware of this situation that most of the countries are just focusing on IT subjects and science subjects. Therefore, this can improve both productivity and efficiency. Consequently, society may experience positive changes. However there are also some drawbacks of this trend. Although this development has benefits, it may also create challenges.
In my second opinion, in recent time information technology play a vital role in our society. People are moving towards new invented tech devices. So, it is important to teach this type of subjects in educational fields.
In conclusion, both views have their advantages, I believe that history is also important subjects and student should know about it, the benefits are more significant. Overall, I believe this is a positive development for society.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You express a view that History should remain important, and you also mention the case for Science and IT, so the response is relevant to the question. However, the discussion is only partial: the advantages of studying History are asserted rather than explained, and the Science/technology view is described mainly as improving “productivity and efficiency” without a specific reason or example. Your position is also not fully consistent: you disagree with prioritising other subjects, but later say IT is important, then conclude that History’s benefits are more significant. Develop both sides with clear supporting reasons and make your own position consistent from introduction to conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has an introduction, separate body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “On the other hand” help identify the intended contrast. However, progression within and between paragraphs is often unclear. The first body paragraph begins with the opposing view but quickly shifts to your disagreement, while the next repeats that countries focus on IT and then gives general statements about benefits and drawbacks. Phrases such as “In my second opinion” do not clearly connect the point to the discussion, and the conclusion combines several ideas without resolving the contrast. Organise each body paragraph around one viewpoint, then use clear references and transitions to show how each reason supports it.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “history,” “science,” “computer,” “productivity,” “efficiency” and “information technology,” which makes the subject clear. However, the range is limited and some expressions are imprecise or unnatural, such as “history subject,” “new invented tech devices” and “ranking equal level.” The comparison between subjects would be clearer with more precise terms for historical knowledge and technological study. There is also repetition of “important,” “subjects” and “society,” and the book comparison is difficult to interpret. Build a wider set of accurate topic collocations and choose words that express the intended relationship directly; this will make your ideas easier to follow without relying on repeated general vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional example beginning “if a student is good in math and physics” and a concession introduced by “Although.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors occur in basic sentence patterns as well as longer attempts. Examples include “The teachers should taught,” “information technology play,” and “student should know”; these show problems with verb forms and subject–verb agreement. The opening paragraph also ends without clear punctuation, and the final sentence joins two independent ideas with only a comma. Practise accurate modal constructions, agreement, articles and plural forms, and check sentence boundaries. Shorter, correctly controlled sentences will help make your reasoning clearer.
