Student answer (Band 5.5)
History and Science with technology, both are specific subjects representing their values to decode in various aspects. Now-a-days, children find it more tedious studying historical events, and science and technology interesting due to more elaborative options in this arena, but history also acknowledges various events, which must be known to students.
History is prominent subject for the school's students, as it signifies the past events, and the glory it carries in distinct archaeological sites, which are provided in historical curriculum of the schools' boards. It also provides relevant archaeological data to students, to analyse and recite the events happened globally over time periods. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss both subjects and give a preference for combining history with science and technology, so the response is relevant to the task. The history paragraph explains its value through heritage, monuments, cultures and human evolution; the science paragraph mentions artificial intelligence, electricity and space exploration. However, the comparison is not fully developed: the claim that some students avoid history to save “time, energy and money” is not clearly explained, and your own position emerges mainly in the conclusion rather than being stated clearly at the outset. The final point about preserving “past glories” is also difficult to interpret. Develop each view with a clearer reason and a specific example, then state your position consistently.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs on history and science, and a concluding paragraph. Linking expressions such as “Meanwhile” and “Hence” help signal shifts between ideas. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear because several points are placed together without showing how they connect. For example, the history paragraph moves from archaeological data to biodiversity, museums and monuments, while the relationship between these examples is not explained. Some transitions, including “but” in the conclusion, do not clearly show the intended contrast. Use topic sentences to establish each paragraph’s main claim, group related examples, and make references such as “these evidences” more precise.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “archaeological sites,” “biodiversity,” “artificial intelligence,” “space exploration” and “human evolution.” This shows an effort to discuss the subject beyond basic terms. However, several choices and collocations are inaccurate or obscure the intended meaning: “specific subjects representing their values to decode,” “more elaborative options,” “own owe of learnings,” and “make the sacrifices and valour prestagious.” Some words are also used imprecisely, such as “recite” for describing the study of historical events. Aim for clear, natural combinations rather than unusually elaborate phrasing, and check spelling and word forms. More precise vocabulary would make your ideas easier to follow.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “as,” “where” and “which,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, complex sentences are often not controlled accurately. For example, “Various branches they study further, are dependent on science” has an awkward clause structure and misplaced comma, while “students research with the help of technology, and they learn” joins ideas with unnecessary punctuation. There are also errors in articles, agreement and sentence construction, as in “History is prominent subject” and “the events happened globally.” Review article use, clause order, and punctuation around dependent clauses. Shorter, well-formed sentences would help you express the more complex ideas reliably.
