Student answer (Band 5.0)

Introduction:

Most people say that the books of history are more important subjects of school. While on the other hand other people beleive that science and technology are crucial subjects of colleges and other institutions than history. I beleive that both subjects are important for our future.

Some individuals said that history subjects are necessary in the syllabus of students. I think that it is more important because more lessons are related to survival of life are placed in history books. In history books there are many stories of kings and wars which give us lesssons. But according to this time science and technology are important. Because technology and science helps us in every feild. In hospitals all machines are made by technology. So, in modern society we travel by train, cars, airoplane, busses due to technology and science. We communicate with anyperson in any part of the world due to science. Some students learn easily in internet and take online classes. So in companies most employees can work online due to access of science and technology.

In conclusion:

I prefer that both history books and science subjects should be a part of education. Government should take intrest in technology and gave oppurtunities of their nation. I think that history stories are lessons for our life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a clear general opinion that both subjects matter, and you include relevant points about history teaching lessons and science and technology supporting hospitals, travel, communication, and online learning. However, the discussion is uneven: the reasons for studying history are brief and vague, while the benefits of modern subjects receive more examples. The response also does not fully develop the comparison or explain why your view follows from these points. The conclusion repeats your position but adds little support. The response is 34 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop both sides. To strengthen the answer, explain one specific lesson history offers and compare it directly with a practical benefit of science or technology.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a recognisable introduction, a main discussion, and a conclusion, and the ideas are generally relevant to the topic. Some progression is visible as you move from history to modern technology and then state your preference for both. However, the main paragraph combines several points without clear grouping, and the shift from history to science is abrupt. Linking phrases such as “But according to this time” and repeated uses of “So” do not always make the relationships between ideas clear. The labels “Introduction:” and “In conclusion:” are unnecessary and do not replace paragraph development. Use separate body paragraphs for the two views, with a clear topic sentence and a concluding link for each.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “syllabus,” “survival,” “technology,” “hospitals,” and “online classes.” The examples make the subject matter clear, but the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “history,” “science and technology,” and “important.” Some choices are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “the books of history,” “anyperson,” and “take intrest,” while spelling errors such as “beleive,” “lesssons,” and “airoplane” are noticeable. These issues sometimes make the reader pause, although the overall meaning remains understandable. Build a more precise range of topic vocabulary and check spelling; for example, use “historical knowledge” and “technological advances” where appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You communicate your main points using mostly simple sentences and make some attempts to connect clauses, for example, “While on the other hand other people believe…” and “Some students learn easily in internet and take online classes.” However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors occur frequently in agreement, articles, and sentence construction. In “technology and science helps us,” the plural subject needs a plural verb; “in internet” also needs a different article or preposition pattern. The opening contrast is incomplete, and the sentence beginning “Because technology and science…” is a fragment. Practise forming complete sentences and combining ideas with accurate subordinate clauses. Check subject–verb agreement and articles before submitting.
