Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is argued history must be taught in the school to the childern so they must learn about the country's past and there struugle to make the county better. some people believe that technology and science played an important role in the grooming of the children and wht is going to happen the world and what is happening in present time. In my opinion subjects like science and technology are more important

However history tecahes us about our past what has happened and know about the things and the struggles that has happened in the past. We must study about history so that we must be aware about the culture and types of people living at that time. History helps us to know about the types of house available at that time and the facilities available in the specific area. History can be of one specific area or a country. Take an example of the history of the making of Pakistan the struggles and the hardships which our founders and people of that time faced. we can also get information about the culture of that time and etc

Technology is one of the most important need of today's life as we are too much dependent on technology on different ways. technology must be teached in the schools because it gives you awareness about the future what is going to happen and what more inventions or discoveries are going to be made in future like invention of air taxi or flying cars and mordern hospitality facilities like doing an operation while sitting in an another country by using technology like ai and robots. Also modernizing the schools and advancing the learning by using ai and furistic mobiles and other devices so things can be understanable quickly.

In conclusion people must know about there past but they must be more involved in future and they must know about the advancements and must be used too them.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You discuss both perspectives and state a clear preference for science and technology in the opening and conclusion. The examples about Pakistan’s founding and future technologies are relevant, so the response addresses the main task. However, the reasons are often asserted rather than explained: for instance, you say history helps people understand past cultures and living conditions, but do not show why this knowledge matters today. The technology paragraph lists possible inventions and uses of AI, yet gives limited explanation of their educational or social benefits. The conclusion repeats the preference without drawing the two arguments together. Develop each main point with a clearer explanation and a specific example to make the response more complete and persuasive. (Eight words copied from the task prompt were not counted.)

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs on history and technology, and a conclusion. This makes the two sides easy to identify. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes loose, and several ideas are added as lists rather than linked into a developing argument. For example, the technology paragraph moves from dependence on technology to flying cars, medical procedures, and AI in schools without clearly connecting these examples to one central claim. Linking phrases such as “However” and “In conclusion” are used, but connections between individual sentences are often unclear or repetitive. Use topic sentences to establish each paragraph’s main point, then explain and illustrate it in a deliberate order; make references such as “they” and “it” clearly identify their subjects.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “struggles,” “culture,” “inventions,” “discoveries,” and “advancements,” and you attempt to discuss both historical knowledge and modern technology. However, the range is limited and several word choices or combinations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes meaning less clear. Examples include “grooming of the children,” “modern hospitality facilities” for medical technology, and “must be used too them” in the conclusion. Spelling errors such as “childern,” “struugle,” and “futuristic” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise topic vocabulary and check spelling and collocations. Replacing vague or unsuitable phrases with established expressions will make your ideas easier to understand and more academic in tone.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including clauses beginning with “because” and “so that,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries occur frequently and can make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “History teaches us about our past what has happened” combines clauses without a clear grammatical link, while “the struggles and the hardships which our founders and people of that time faced” is left as a fragment after “Take an example.” There are also agreement problems in “the struggles that has happened” and “technology must be teached.” Practise building complete sentences with one clear main clause, then add subordinate clauses accurately. Review subject–verb agreement, past participles, and punctuation.
