Student answer (Band 5.0)
With changing social culture and lifestyle, people interests are also changing. Without any doubt, History is one of the most important school subjects. But, this was a talk of past. In today's world, people especially school childern are not much interested in such subjects like History and Social Sciences.
Most School childern are now, more keen towards learning new trends of the world that are, Science and Technology. The reason behind it is really simple, the world is moving very fast and if you don't move with the same speed, you will be left behind. That is not what people really wants. In my point of view the 2nd category of people are in majority and their thought's are also reliable.
Subjects like Science and Technology are way more important than History. Even if you taught childern History they will forget it in no time because it is not what they are interested in. By following the new trends of subjects we can make our childern worth more higher because that is the future, these are the subjets that will be in demand in the future rather than the History.
In my opinion, both these subjects have their own worth, we cannot judge their worth by what people are saying or thinking about them. History is also very important to be taught in school but, it cannot be ranked at the top place, same followed by the other two subjects that are Science and Technology, these are the pillars of future growth and we cannot neglect their importance by competing these subjects with eachother.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You discuss both subjects and give a view: you argue that Science and Technology are more relevant to future needs, while also saying History has value. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The claim that children will forget History because they are not interested is asserted rather than supported, and the benefits of studying History—such as understanding past events or learning from them—are not explained. Your final position that neither subject should be ranked above the other also sits uneasily beside the earlier claim that Science and Technology are “way more important.” Make your opinion consistent and support each side with a specific reason or example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic paragraph structure, moving from an introduction to the case for Science and Technology and then to your opinion. Some linking phrases, including “The reason behind it” and “In my opinion,” help readers follow the discussion. However, progression is limited: the first paragraph introduces changing interests but does not clearly set out the two views, and the final paragraph repeats earlier claims rather than resolving them. Connections between ideas can also be unclear, particularly where you move from children’s interests to the subjects’ future importance. Organise the essay around the two views, then state and explain your own position, using clearer links between each claim and its supporting reason.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary such as “Science and Technology,” “History,” “trends,” and “future growth,” so the main subject is clear. However, the range is limited and several phrases are repetitive or imprecise, including repeated references to “subjects” and “important.” Some word choices and collocations sound unnatural, such as “a talk of past,” “worth more higher,” and “competing these subjects.” Spelling errors such as “childern” and “subjets” are noticeable and reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise academic expressions and check spelling carefully. For example, you could describe History as helping students understand past societies, and Science and Technology as preparing them for changing employment needs.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer sentences, including “Even if you taught childern History they will forget it in no time because it is not what they are interested in,” and use basic connectors to express reasons and contrast. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. Examples include “people interests are also changing” and “what people really wants,” where subject–verb agreement is incorrect, as well as “Most School childern are now, more keen,” which has awkward punctuation and sentence construction. There are also problems with articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with controlled clauses using “because,” “although,” and “while.”
