Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some individuals believe that history is one of the most important subject in academic studies. On the other hand, others think that Science and technological subjects are more important than History in today's world. I agree Science and technology subjects are important but history cannot be ignored, it is equally important in today's world.
Although, Science and technology subject are important in today's world but it doesn't mean we can completely ignore History as a subject. By studying history we get a knowledge about the ancient people and where do they live and also, we study about the empires how they rule in ancient times, in which area of land did they lived and also about the history of our country. For example, a student who have not studied the history will not have a knowledge about it. People gets aware about who lived before us on land we are currently living.
On the other hand, Science and technology subjects are equally important, it gives knowledge and awareness about the technologies, It promotes the critical thinking, problem solve skilling and analytical thinking. Studying technological subject helps a student in exploring new ideas, the latest example we can take is for AI doing wonderful jobs and making life easier for everyone. It's very helpful in IT field as well, AI solves a specified problem quicker than any human.
In conclusion, although some people don't get interest in history subjects but it's equally important to gain the knowledge about our country and our poets. In my opinions academic studies should have both the subject.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the discussion and state a clear position: science and technology are important, but history is “equally important.” The body paragraphs give relevant reasons, including learning about earlier societies and the practical contribution of AI. However, the two views are not developed equally: the history paragraph mainly lists what students learn, while the science paragraph explains benefits more directly. The example about AI is relevant but would be stronger if linked to a specific way school study prepares students for such developments. The conclusion repeats your position, though its reference to “our poets” is not explained and does not clearly support the argument. Develop each main reason with a clearer explanation or example to make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two perspectives, and a conclusion. Transitions such as “On the other hand” help signal the change in viewpoint, and the ideas generally follow a sensible order. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical, particularly through repeated use of “also” and repeated references to subjects being “important.” The opening of the history paragraph, “Although … but,” combines two contrasting linkers and makes the relationship between ideas less clear. Some references are also vague, as in “it gives knowledge,” where the subject could be science, technology, or both. Use linking expressions more selectively and make pronouns and topic references precise to improve the flow between sentences.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to discuss education and technology, including “ancient people,” “empires,” “critical thinking,” “analytical thinking,” and “AI.” These choices make the main ideas understandable. However, some wording is imprecise or unnatural, such as “a knowledge,” “problem solve skilling,” and “doing wonderful jobs.” There is also repetition of “important” and “subjects,” which limits flexibility. Aim for more accurate collocations and a wider range of expressions for explaining educational value and technological benefits. For example, describe history as providing “insight into past societies” and AI as “performing a range of tasks.” This would make the argument sound more natural and precise without changing its meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a concessive opening and sentences joined with “although” and “on the other hand.” The overall meaning is usually clear, but some errors in agreement, articles, and verb forms remain. Examples include “one of the most important subject,” “a student who have,” and “People gets aware.” The sentence beginning “Although” also uses “but” unnecessarily, and “where do they live” has question word order within a statement. These issues sometimes make the reader pause, even though the main message can be followed. Practise checking subject–verb agreement and statement word order, and build complex sentences with one clear linking structure at a time.
