Student answer (Band 4.0)
Some citizens say history is one of the most important school subjects. Other people debate that, history is one of the most important school subjects like science and technology are more important than history.
According to me, both the subjects are equally important because both teaches us something for instance, science teaches us about our body as well as plants but history teaches us about our past as well as historical events and the rule of various rulers for instance Akbar, babur also, there are several benefits of studing medical as well for instance it offers varous field of medical for instance, phisiotherapist, surgeon. while arts helps us to learn fashion designing, for instance if we choose medical then we will persue our career in various lines for instance surgeon meanwhile in arts, there is a chance to be fashion designer.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
You state an opinion—“both the subjects are equally important”—and include relevant points about what science and history can teach. However, the response does not adequately discuss both views: the case for history is briefly mentioned, while the comparison with science and technology is not clearly explained. The later discussion of medical careers and fashion design shifts to subjects such as medicine and arts, which are not the focus of the question. Examples such as Akbar and Babur are relevant but not developed into reasons. The response contains 111 words, so it is 139 words short of the 250-word minimum; this leaves the task substantially incomplete. Develop each view and support your position with focused examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.0
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: it opens with the two positions and then gives your opinion. Some linking expressions, including “because,” “for instance,” and “meanwhile,” show how you intend to connect ideas. However, the response is one paragraph, and the ideas move abruptly from history and science to medical careers and fashion design, so the overall progression is difficult to follow. “For instance” is repeated several times, and the long sentence beginning “both the subjects are equally important” contains several separate points without clear boundaries. Use separate paragraphs for each view and your opinion, and make each paragraph develop one central idea with clear links between sentences.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “historical events,” “rulers,” “medical,” and “fashion designing,” and the main meaning is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “for instance” and “important.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-form errors, such as “studing,” “varous,” “phisiotherapist,” and “persue,” which reduce accuracy and may slow the reader. Some expressions are imprecise for the task: “debate that” does not naturally introduce the opposing view, and “rule of various rulers” is awkward. Build a wider set of accurate terms for discussing the value of school subjects and check spelling before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences using “because,” “as well as,” and “while,” so there is some effort to go beyond simple statements. However, the range is limited, and the longer structures are often difficult to control. For example, “both teaches us” has a subject–verb agreement error, and the sentence beginning “both the subjects are equally important” runs through several ideas without clear sentence boundaries. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, particularly after “surgeon” and before “while.” Use shorter, complete sentences to express each reason, check agreement in plural subjects such as “both subjects,” and punctuate examples and sentence endings clearly.
