Student answer (Band 5.0)
People have different views on whether history is one of the most important school subjects or other people think that in today's world subject such as science and technology are more important than history. While there are valid arguments in favour with the formerly view I personally support the latter view.
On the one hand people argues that children should learn about technology and science while this is also a great options for children. I personally like this view because it teaches children to learn more about technology and science whether the world is required high technology gadgets. for example- countries are developing new technologies regarding artificial intelligence to ensure that no one could reaches it before them. I personally think that students should learn about technology and science stuff it will benefits them to reachers and develop things for their future and for their country.
On the other end people are usually forgetting their history and roots of their culture from their busy life schedule over the past but if they were introduce to later they probably forget their history. I would prefer that if only few hours or days of the week or month they spent to know their history that would be a great opportunity toward their history, culture and ancestors. For instance- when I was young around at 10 -12 years old my father told me about our history and culture. I was shocked by listening about my and my country history and if you ask me I am stunned by that story I will recommend that spend some time with your country history about the past.
In conclusion although both side now have merits I firmly believe that spending litter time for your country history will grow your Curiosity it ultimately benefits your knowledge.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a clear preference for science and technology in the introduction, then discuss both subjects and include a personal example about learning your country’s history from your father. These points are relevant to the prompt. However, the discussion is only partly developed: the science paragraph mainly asserts that technology is needed and gives an AI example, without explaining in detail how this makes it more important as a school subject. The history paragraph shifts toward recommending that students spend some time on history, which makes your final position less consistent with the preference stated at the start. Explain both views more fully and make your conclusion clearly reconcile your preference with the value of history.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two perspectives, and a conclusion, so the reader can identify its broad structure. You also use signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other end,” and “In conclusion.” However, progression within paragraphs is not always clear, and some linking expressions are inaccurate or repetitive. For example, “while this is also a great options” does not clearly connect the ideas, and the science paragraph moves from technology’s importance to national competition and then to students’ future benefits without developing the links. The conclusion also introduces “spending litter time” without clearly resolving the opening preference. Organise each paragraph around one main claim and connect each example explicitly to it.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “artificial intelligence,” “technology,” “culture,” and “ancestors,” and these choices help communicate the subject matter. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are noticeably inaccurate, sometimes making the intended meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “the formerly view,” “reachers and develop things,” and “spending litter time.” Phrases such as “busy life schedule over the past” and “I was shocked by listening” are also unnatural in context. Aim to learn vocabulary in complete collocations and choose precise expressions for your argument, such as describing how scientific education supports innovation or how history builds cultural understanding. Check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “if they were introduce to later they probably forget their history.” However, complex attempts are often faulty, and frequent errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction can make the reader work to understand your meaning. For example, “people argues” should use a plural verb, while “it will benefits them” has an incorrect verb form. The sentence beginning “I personally think that students should learn…” also lacks a clear grammatical connection between its ideas. Punctuation and capitalisation are inconsistent, particularly after full stops and around examples. Practise building accurate short sentences first, then combine them using controlled clauses and check subject–verb agreement and verb forms.
