Student answer (Band 4.5)
Many peoples believe history is the most important subject in school. But other side peoples would aslo believe that in future or present history is not important any more in that time science and technology are more important than history.
Overall, history would teach us past things for example world war one, world war 2 other lots of things history will teach us about past but now in present or future is will not important because now science and technology were in AI or in medical fields.
However,it would be important that we knows about both history or science both are equal on their own point of view. But i believe that science and technology is more important than history because science and technology will helps us for the inventions of new products or things and it helps us to perform experiment with the help of science and technology we can inventions so many products or things.
In my opinion, science and technology will important for the new inventions for example, with the help of history we can not inverntions new things because now everything is advanced in coming time. Many reasons but i will mentions these two with the help of history we can not inventions new things we can study about objects or about medicals so science and technology would be better than history. In my own knowledge or experience,i will definetely choose science and technology because with the help of science and technology we can discuss about space ships we can studies about orbits,Planets these all things will be possible with the help of science and technology.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a clear preference for science and technology, especially in “I believe that science and technology is more important than history,” and you include relevant examples such as AI, medicine, and space study. However, the discussion of the view favouring History is brief: you mention that it teaches us about past events, including the world wars, but do not explain why this knowledge matters today. Your own position is also repeated more than it is developed, and claims such as History being unable to help with new inventions need clearer reasoning. To strengthen the response, explain both viewpoints in comparable depth and support your opinion with a specific, developed example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a basic sequence: it introduces the two views, mentions what History teaches, states your preference, and gives examples. Paragraph breaks also help separate some points. However, the overall progression is difficult to follow because ideas are repeated and connections between them are often unclear. For example, “Overall” introduces a point about History, while the next paragraph begins “However” without clearly showing how the contrast develops. The final paragraph repeats the claim that History cannot produce inventions and then shifts to space topics. Use a clearer structure—one paragraph for each view, followed by your opinion—and connect each example directly to the point it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “world war,” “AI,” “medical fields,” “inventions,” “orbits,” and “planets,” so the reader can identify the subject of your argument. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “science and technology,” “important,” and “new things.” Some choices are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “inverntions” and “we can studies about orbits,” which make parts of the message harder to understand. Aim to use a wider set of precise terms and check spelling and word forms. For instance, you could describe History as helping students “understand past events” and technology as enabling “scientific advances,” rather than repeatedly referring to “things.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to express reasons and contrasts, including with “because” and “However,” but most sentences rely on simple patterns, and attempts at longer sentences are often difficult to control. Errors in agreement and verb forms appear in examples such as “science and technology is,” “science and technology will helps us,” and “we can studies.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also inconsistent: several sentences run together, and spaces after full stops and commas are often missing. These problems sometimes make the relationships between ideas unclear. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with controlled clauses—for example, “Science and technology are important because they support medical research.”
