Student answer (Band 5.5)
Few individual believed that History is one of the most vital school subject. While, others argue that in the present days Science and technology are crucial than History. I firmly believe that both subject is essential so that we can preserve it tothe new generations.
On the one hand, History is essential in school area because we can learned about the history about the ancient individual who served the country, to fight the right of the people who colonised in other country. For instance, Philippines colonised by the spaniards because of the public servant the fight for the right and defend the the country, and now people there are free because of the ancient people. From my opinion, its vital to know the lesson about the history so that we can preserve the cultures and traditions.
Moreover, other argue that in the present days Science and technology are significantly crucial than history it is because of the new genarations, individual are more on inventing medicine, robots, or artificial intelligence because they need a wide knowledge about the new inventory. For example, many scientist studied robot so its enhanced robot skills however there is a detriemntal side like it is possible that robots replace human skills such as by teaching.
In conclusion, we need to preserved both subjects because it is essential in the daily life, especially for the new generations so that they can experience the History and the Scientece and technology subject in school. It help students broaden their knowlegde in both subjects.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the discussion and state a clear position: “both subject is essential.” The history paragraph gives a relevant example about the Philippines and links the subject to preserving culture, while the science paragraph mentions medicine, robots and artificial intelligence. However, the two views are not developed equally: the history example is difficult to follow, and the benefits of science and technology are mostly listed rather than explained. The point that robots might replace people is relevant, but its connection to why these subjects should be taught could be clearer. To strengthen the response, explain more precisely what students gain from each subject and support each view with a focused example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “On the one hand,” “Moreover,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the discussion. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “Moreover, other argue” does not clearly identify whose view is being introduced, and the long sentence about the Philippines combines colonisation, public servants and freedom without showing the relationships between these ideas. The conclusion repeats the position but does not bring the two arguments together in a developed way. Use clearer referencing and divide complex explanations into sentences so each point progresses logically.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “preserve,” “cultures and traditions,” “artificial intelligence,” and “detrimental side.” These choices show an attempt to discuss both historical and modern subjects. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling errors make parts less clear, such as “ancient individual,” “new inventory,” and “robots replace human skills.” Repetition of “essential,” “crucial” and “new generations” also limits precision. Choose more natural topic-specific expressions and check spelling carefully; for example, explain that technology can “automate tasks” rather than replace “human skills.” More accurate collocations would make your ideas easier to understand.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a contrastive opening with “While” and a reason clause beginning “because.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but some errors in sentence structure, agreement and verb forms reduce accuracy. Examples include “both subject is essential,” “we can learned,” and “we need to preserved”; these should use plural agreement and the correct verb forms. The sentence beginning “For instance, Philippines colonised…” also lacks a clear grammatical structure, while “It help students” has a subject–verb agreement error. Review verb patterns after modal verbs and “need to,” and check articles, plurals and sentence boundaries. This will help you express your ideas more reliably.
