Student answer (Band 5.5)

Many individuals belive that study of History subjects is most important for the school students. On the other hand, many people things that in modren time technology and science related subjents are more important as compare to the history subject. In my opinion, study of history is good but study of science subject is more sufficient in this era.

Firslty, learning of history subject is very improtant for the children. If they work on history then they know how to make our country and how many people are martyred for the making of history. For intense, if children study history subject specilly their region then they are fully understand about their region.

Secondly, study of technology and science subjects are very important specilly in modren world because technology rapidly very fastly. If we are not include the subject of science in the syllbus of school our children not understand the basic rules and basic concept. For example, in developing countries like China, America as well as Russia children learn about technology and work on it. Because they know future is totally based on technology and science if they are not traine our children then there future will be dark. That is why, study of technology and science subject is important.

In the conclusion and my opinion, knowledge about history is very good but our main focus on future technology and science because future completely based on science. So, the study of science subject is more important as compare to the history subjects.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both sides of the discussion and state a clear preference for science and technology, especially in the introduction and conclusion. The points about learning how a country developed and understanding regional history are relevant, as is the claim that scientific knowledge prepares children for a technology-focused future. However, these ideas are only briefly explained: for example, the reference to people being “martyred” does not clearly show what students learn from studying history. The examples about China, America and Russia are also asserted rather than supported with a specific illustration. To strengthen the response, explain the benefits of each subject more fully and show why your preferred subject should receive greater emphasis.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “On the other hand,” “Firstly,” “Secondly” and “In the conclusion” help readers follow the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and several ideas are joined without a clear relationship. For instance, the sentence beginning “Because they know future is totally based on technology” does not connect smoothly to the preceding example, and the final paragraph repeats the preference already stated in the introduction. Use clearer links between claims and explanations, and organise each body paragraph around one main point supported by a relevant example.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “history,” “technology,” “science,” “syllabus” and “developing countries,” so the main message is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling errors make the writing less precise. Examples include “study of History subjects,” “as compare to,” “technology rapidly very fastly” and “future will be dark.” Repeated use of “important” and “subject” also limits variety. Aim to learn accurate topic-related phrases and check spelling carefully; more precise expressions would help you explain the educational value of each subject without relying on broad or awkward wording.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some longer sentences and conditional structures, such as “If we are not include the subject of science…” and “if they are not traine our children then there future will be dark.” These attempts show an effort to express cause and consequence, but the structures are often faulty. Errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction occur throughout, as in “many people things,” “they are fully understand” and “study of technology and science subjects are.” Most sentences rely on simple patterns, and these errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses, checking subject–verb agreement and verb forms.
