Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You discuss both sides: History is linked to learning from past mistakes and understanding earlier societies, while Science and technology are presented as useful for modern life and medical treatment. Your final paragraph also signals that both subjects matter. However, the position is not fully clear: the opening says Science and technology are important in the future, but later calls History essential, and the conclusion describes both as important without directly deciding which view you support. Several points remain general or unclear, such as the reference to having an idea about IT. Develop each side with a specific explanation or example, then state and maintain a clear opinion throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a basic overall structure, with an opening, separate paragraphs beginning “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a concluding statement. These markers help readers identify the two views. However, progression within paragraphs is weak: the History paragraph moves through ancient civilisations, daily routines, food, fire, and political leaders without grouping or explaining how each point supports the argument. Some links are also unclear, and the final paragraph repeats earlier claims rather than drawing them together. Organise each body paragraph around one main reason, explain it, and add a relevant example. Use referencing and linking phrases carefully so the relationships between ideas are clear rather than relying mainly on repeated transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “previous mistakes,” “civilisation,” “treatment,” and “science and technology,” so the reader can identify the subject of the essay. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “important” and “in the past.” Frequent spelling errors—such as “Histroy,” “tecnology,” and “essentiaol”—and imprecise expressions such as “idea about the [IT]” sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Aim to use a wider set of accurate terms for historical learning and modern applications, and check spelling carefully. Prefer precise, natural collocations over broad claims such as “make our life easy and safe.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt some longer structures, including the opening contrast with “While” and the explanation beginning “because,” but control is inconsistent. Several sentences are fragments, such as “Although both subjects have there own benefits,” and the opening “While other argue…” is not joined to a complete main clause. Agreement and verb forms are also frequently inaccurate: “history play’s,” “its help,” and “science and technology is” need correction. Punctuation is often misplaced, with spaces before commas and long strings of ideas joined without clear sentence boundaries. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then check agreement, tense, articles, and punctuation. More accurate simple and compound sentences would make your ideas easier to understand.
