Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the discussion and give a clear opinion that both subjects matter for children’s education. The history paragraph offers relevant reasons, including learning about ancestors, culture and past events; the science paragraph adds technology, innovation and medicine. These examples keep the response focused on the question. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained: for instance, the link between historical knowledge and overcoming challenges is unclear, and the claim that studying science leads students to become doctors needs further development. The conclusion restates your position but does not draw together the main reasons. Develop the less clear ideas with a specific explanation or example to make the discussion more complete. The response meets the stated length requirement; eight words copied from the task prompt were not counted.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. The contrast between the views is easy to follow, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some of the stronger progression associated with the next level. However, transitions can feel mechanical, and several sentences within each paragraph are linked by repeated “The other reason” or “For example” patterns rather than by a clear development of the preceding point. References such as “all this things” are also unclear. Use a wider range of linking methods and make each sentence’s connection to the main idea explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “historical background,” “culture,” “artificial intelligence,” “innovate,” and “medicine.” These choices show an attempt to discuss education and modern technology rather than relying entirely on very basic terms. However, the range and control are limited by repeated general words such as “important,” “help,” and “things,” as well as inaccurate word choices and collocations. Examples include “advance feature,” “known well about,” and “make doctor,” which can make the intended meaning less natural or less precise. Spelling errors such as “childeren,” “techlogy,” and “intellegence” are also noticeable. Build a bank of accurate topic-specific phrases and check spelling and collocations during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more developed sentence forms, including explanations with “because” and examples introduced by “For example.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, and the paragraph structure gives the reader a clear route through the argument. However, control of sentence structure and basic grammar is inconsistent. For example, “Some individual believe” and “it give childeren” have subject–verb agreement problems, while “understand that how people spend their life” has an awkward clause structure and tense choice. Articles, plurals and punctuation also need attention, as in “in today world” and the spacing around commas. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb, then review agreement, articles and plural forms. More accurate complex sentences would strengthen the response.
