Student answer (Band 5.0)

There is a strong contradiction between histroy and science subjects, every person have their own opinion. I will discuss both views and then I wil give my own opinion.

Firstly, some people have the idea that history is an interesting subject, everyone have their own point of view. Some people wanted to know the old things, what happened when I was not born? Some people take interest in old wars, traditions and events. If someone know the telling way of history then it looks very interesting. For example, my uncle also takes interest in history, his way of telling the old things create a great suspense and my siblings also enjoyed it very much. Some people also wanted to know about dates, like what happened on 1947 etc.

In this modern era, most of the people take interest in science and technology, everything became one touch all this is because of science. Science has become a part of our daily life. No one focused on history except old minded and old viewed people. Everyone need technology in their daily life. We can easily buy anything, search any place and communicate with our loved one's which are out of city.

According to my observation, in future, science and technology will become more popular among the people. Because everything became more easier because of science. It is true to a little extent that, history is also a interesting subject but science became our daily need, we do not compromise on that things. Science is emerging subject than all others.

To sum up all the views, science is better than history, because it makes everything easier.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both perspectives and state a clear preference for science and technology, especially in “science is better than history.” The examples about your uncle’s interest in historical stories and technology helping people shop, find places, and communicate are relevant. However, the discussion is only partial: the case for History is mainly about personal interest and stories, rather than explaining its wider value, such as learning from past decisions or understanding society. The argument for science also relies on broad claims like “everything became one touch” and “science is emerging subject” without explaining specific benefits in depth. Develop each view with a reason and a concrete example, and make your position more consistently reasoned rather than relying mainly on preference.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “In this modern era,” and “To sum up” help signal the stages of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes loose: the History paragraph moves from general interest to your uncle, then to dates, without clearly connecting these points to the subject’s importance. Some linking is repetitive or mechanical, and references such as “that things” are unclear. The conclusion repeats the preference but does not draw together the two sides. Group related reasons, use clearer links between claims and examples, and ensure each paragraph develops one central point.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “traditions,” “events,” “technology,” and “communicate,” and the main ideas are generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several expressions are repetitive or imprecise, such as “old things,” “take interest,” and “everything became one touch.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice problems, including “histroy,” “wil,” and “old viewed people,” which make parts of the response less natural and can slow the reader. Aim for more precise terms for the value of each subject, and check spelling carefully. Learning common collocations will also help you express ideas more naturally, for example, “take an interest in” and “advances in technology.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, and the overall meaning can usually be followed. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in basic sentence patterns and in attempts to join ideas. Examples include “every person have,” “everyone have,” and “If someone know,” where subject–verb agreement is incorrect, as well as “Science has become a part of our daily life” followed by “No one focused,” which shifts tense without a clear reason. Articles and plurals are also inconsistent, as in “a interesting subject” and “one touch.” Practise accurate simple sentences first, then build longer sentences with clear clauses. Check agreement, tense consistency, articles, and punctuation during revision.
