Student answer (Band 6.0)

People has different views that history plays a vital role in Educational life or science and technology are significant than ancient stories. While both perspectives have some merit, I believe that digital tools are more important than history because it brings many more opportunities to modern people.

On the one hand, some people believe that learning the ancient stories from books is the good for pupils. They understand the past life, learning from past mistakes makes inspire and it can develop cultural awarness. The major reason for that is about the history there are no evidences to learn expect books and museums. Additionally, the freedom fighters fought for our independence that even doesn't know if they not wrote in books and their sacrifice remains nothing. For example, the ancient architectures like Golconda fort, Thousand pillar temple are the places ruled by nizams and the structure was beautiful. It represents the hardwork of the people who build. Therefore, history makes the individuals to learn and inspire from it.

On the other hand, others argue that innovations are made people life easier to learn. This is mainly because it is useful for modern life, creates career opportunities and improves healthcare, communication and eduaction through digital tools. For instance, it consume less time in any work such as online shopping, meeting. From my perspective, this view is more convincing because technologies like AI, chatgpt and google gives the information within seconds. As a result, it is more important for modern life to enhance new skills.

In conclusion, both views have their own merits. However, I believe that scientific tools essential for the public because it creates more options in the digital world for people and children knowledge.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both sides of the discussion and state a clear preference for science and technology in the introduction and conclusion. The history paragraph gives relevant reasons, including learning from past mistakes and preserving knowledge of independence, while the technology paragraph mentions careers, healthcare, communication and education. These points meet the task, but some are not fully explained: the example of the forts describes their architecture without clearly showing how studying them benefits pupils today. The technology argument is also broader than it is developed; explain how a specific innovation improves learning or another area of life. A more direct comparison between the subjects would make your position and supporting reasoning more convincing.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for each viewpoint, and a conclusion. The signposts “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the discussion, and the main position is consistent. This organisation is effective, though some links between ideas are mechanical or unclear. For example, “The major reason for that is about the history…” does not clearly connect the preceding point about learning from the past to the claim about books and museums. The history paragraph also moves from cultural awareness to independence and then architecture without explaining the relationship. Use clearer references and add brief transitions that show how each example supports the paragraph’s main idea.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “cultural awareness,” “career opportunities,” “healthcare,” “communication,” and “digital tools.” These choices show an attempt to discuss both historical and contemporary subjects. However, several inaccurate or unnatural expressions limit precision, such as “ancient stories” for the study of history, “the good for pupils,” and “innovations are made people life easier.” Spelling and word-form errors, including “awarness” and “eduaction,” also reduce control. Aim for accurate academic collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms such as “historical evidence,” “technological advances,” and “make daily life easier” would help express your ideas naturally without relying on broad or repetitive wording.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a contrast clause beginning “While both perspectives have some merit” and a reason clause introduced by “because.” The overall meaning is usually understandable, but errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence construction occur across the response. For example, “People has different views” needs a plural verb, and “it consume less time” has an agreement error. The sentence “learning from past mistakes makes inspire” is also structurally unclear, while “technologies like AI, chatgpt and google gives” combines a plural subject with a singular verb. Practise building complete clauses and checking subject–verb agreement, articles and verb patterns. Greater accuracy in these areas would make your arguments easier to follow.
