Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You address both sides of the discussion and state a preference for science and technology, so the response is relevant to the question. The point about history preserving national heroes and teaching the next generation about ancestors gives one reason for its importance. However, the discussion is only partial: the science-and-technology paragraph ends before explaining its effects, and your opinion is asserted rather than supported with a specific example or developed reasoning. The introduction also promises a conclusion, but none is provided. The response contains 181 words, which is below the required 250, leaving important parts of the argument underdeveloped. To improve, complete both sides, explain why your preferred subjects matter, and add a clear concluding paragraph.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph beginning “On the one hand,” and a contrasting paragraph beginning “On the other hand.” These signposts help the reader identify the two viewpoints. However, the progression is incomplete because the second body paragraph stops after the unfinished point about how science has changed living, and there is no conclusion to bring the discussion together. Some links between ideas are also awkward: “The stories are still mentioned … that motivates” does not clearly connect the stories to the effect, and “In addition to this” introduces no completed supporting idea. Develop each paragraph around a complete point, use clear references, and finish with a summary of your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “national heroes,” “dignity,” “ancestors,” “modern era,” and “inventing new technologies.” These choices show an effort to discuss both historical and contemporary subjects. However, the range is limited and some phrases are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “remembering of our national heroes,” “at school level,” and “plays a crucial role for modernisation.” Spelling errors, including “revoulutionlized,” “yhe,” and “tjhen,” also distract from the message. Aim for more precise collocations and check spelling carefully. For example, you could describe history as helping students “understand their national heritage” and say that technology “supports modernisation” or “improves everyday life.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use some longer sentence forms, including a conditional structure: “If the history is removed … the next generation will not be able to…” This shows an attempt to express cause and consequence. However, control is inconsistent, and several errors affect clarity. In “the stories … that motivates,” the verb does not agree with its subject; “science and technology gains” also needs a plural verb. The phrase “will not be able to studying” uses the wrong verb form after “able to,” and the opening has sentence-boundary and capitalisation problems, such as “school level. while.” Practise subject–verb agreement, infinitive forms, and accurate sentence punctuation, then proofread each sentence for a complete grammatical structure.
