Student answer (Band 6.0)

In todays world, many people believe that history is most important while, other believe Science and technology is more important than history. I respect both concepts equally but I think science and technology are more important in modern world.

History is one of the major subjects in our academic as it thought us about a countrys past and its previous culture. History gives us lesson about how a country gain its independence and how our ancestors lived. It also gives us lesson about other countrys history and world's past information. It enlightens us with world's different historic era and tell us how we got here today and it also includes humans evaluation. For example, in our countrys history book it tells us about our liberation war in 1971 and how our people fought our enemies to liberate the country.

On the other hand, in todays modern world history is now less important than science and technology. Because, modern world is based on technology and science. We cannot think one moment with out these. History is also important but not as much as science and technology. Although history gave us knowledge about past world but we should priotise our present more. Focusing on science can improve our overall world and technology will made us more advance than ever. For instance, after studying history book a student cannot implement it practically whether a student can do lot more after reading science and technology book.

In conclusion, history is important for students but not as much as science and technology in modern world. I think people should encourage student more to read science and technology related books to affect our present and upcoming future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both sides of the discussion and state your view clearly in the introduction and conclusion: you consider History valuable, but favour Science and technology in the modern world. The examples about learning from the past and the 1971 liberation war are relevant, and you explain the practical importance of scientific study. However, the two positions are not developed equally: the case for History is explained in more detail, while the benefits of Science and technology are mostly asserted through broad claims such as improving “our overall world.” The comparison that a student “cannot implement” History practically also needs qualification, since historical knowledge can inform present decisions. Develop each main reason with a clearer explanation or example to make the discussion more balanced and convincing.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion that restates your position. This makes the progression easy to follow, and signposts such as “On the other hand” help distinguish the arguments. The ideas within the History paragraph also move from what the subject teaches to a specific national example. To make the organisation more fluent, reduce repeated transitions and connect claims more explicitly. For example, “History is also important but not as much as science and technology” repeats the central comparison rather than advancing the paragraph. Some references, such as “it” in the History paragraph, could be made more precise so readers can immediately identify what the pronoun refers to.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “academic,” “independence,” “ancestors,” “liberation war,” and “technology.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions such as “historic era” and “implement it practically.” However, the range is limited by repeated use of “important,” “history,” and “science and technology,” and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unnatural. For instance, “humans evaluation” does not express the intended idea clearly, and “affect our present and upcoming future” is awkward. Spelling and word-form errors, including “todays,” “countrys,” and “priotise,” are noticeable. Aim for more precise topic vocabulary and check spelling and natural word combinations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast introduced by “Although” and a conditional-style comparison beginning “whether a student.” Most of the meaning remains understandable, but errors in sentence construction and basic grammar are frequent enough to make some sentences awkward. Examples include “as it thought us,” where the verb form is incorrect, “how a country gain its independence,” where subject–verb agreement is missing, and “technology will made us,” which uses the wrong verb form. The opening sentence also has an unnecessary comma after “while,” and “Because, modern world is based…” is an incomplete sentence. Practise accurate verb forms, articles, agreement, and punctuation, then proofread each sentence for a complete grammatical structure.
