Student answer (Band 6.0)
Many people are saying that History is one of the most important subject for the students to learn. However, critics demand that in todays society and development, schools should teach more about Science and technology.
History is essential in making sure that students are aware of their own cultural roots, traditions and heritage. This fosters an important reminder and awareness of how people lived in the past, how the past helped us in the present and what was it like before all of these development. For instance, this subject can be useful for student who are leaning towards taking up courses such as, social science, archaeology or politics.
However, others are leaning towards the subjects Science and technology rather than History. As our society and generation develops we all know that we are in the digital age where everything is run by science and technology. These are subjects where we can encounter most of our daily lives. There are a lot of important and helpful informations when it comes to science, for example, people who wants to be in the medical field later in their life or scientists. Technology can also help students to navigate and be digitally knowledgeable because they are using this widely nowadays. Both of these subjects let students experience a new development and insights.
In conclusion, no subject is less important than another, all of it are valuable in the development of a student. I believe that History, Science and Technology are all equally important in their own way. Without history there wouldn't be any development for science and technology but without science and technology we wouldn't be able to discover and explore much of our history. They are all essential for one another.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both perspectives and give a clear opinion: the conclusion states that History, Science and Technology are “all equally important.” The discussion of History is relevant, particularly the links to cultural roots and possible study in archaeology or politics. You also explain the practical relevance of science and technology in a digital society. However, some points are asserted rather than fully developed: for example, “a lot of important and helpful informations” does not specify what knowledge students gain, and the claim that these subjects are encountered in daily life could use a concrete example. Your conclusion adds a useful relationship between the subjects, but the argument would be stronger with more specific support and fuller explanation of the opposing views.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. The contrast between the perspectives is easy to follow, with “However” and “In conclusion” signalling the main stages. Ideas within the paragraphs are generally relevant and ordered sensibly. Some connections are less smooth or precise, though. In the History paragraph, the sequence from cultural heritage to past development and then career choices feels somewhat list-like. Phrases such as “These are subjects where we can encounter most of our daily lives” also make the relationship between ideas unclear. To strengthen progression, group related reasons and explain how each example supports the paragraph’s main point; use referencing that clearly identifies which subject or idea is being discussed.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “cultural roots,” “traditions and heritage,” “digital age,” “archaeology,” and “navigate.” These choices help communicate both the historical and contemporary perspectives. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “development and insights,” although some combinations are imprecise or unnatural. For example, “critics demand” is stronger and less suitable than the intended idea of people arguing for greater emphasis, while “helpful informations” uses an incorrect form and collocation. “Leaning towards taking up courses” is also wordy. Greater precision in collocations and more varied ways to describe educational benefits would improve the vocabulary’s flexibility and naturalness.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses beginning with “However,” “As,” and “because,” and the main ideas remain understandable. Some sentence patterns are controlled, such as “Technology can also help students to navigate…” However, errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence construction remain noticeable. Examples include “one of the most important subject,” “people who wants,” and “what was it like before all of these development.” The final sentence of the conclusion also joins two contrasting clauses with a comma, creating a run-on sentence. Review subject–verb agreement, singular and plural forms, and punctuation between independent clauses. More accurate control of these patterns, alongside the complex structures you already attempt, would make the response easier to read.
