Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss both perspectives and give a clear preference in the final paragraph: History helps people understand the past, while science and technology merit slightly more attention today. Relevant examples include learning how the country gained freedom and the use of mobile phones. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The claim that historical study improves lifestyles is not explained, and the benefits of science are listed rather than supported with a specific example or clear reasoning. Your opinion also appears only at the end, and the final explanation—modern society depends on science—is too brief to fully justify it. Develop each main point with a clear explanation and a concrete example, and state your position more consistently.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a concluding opinion. The signposts “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help readers follow the comparison, and the ideas generally remain within their relevant paragraphs. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the point about historical patterns and lifestyle improvement is difficult to connect to the surrounding claims, while the science paragraph moves quickly from careers to facilities and entertainment. Some links are mechanical, and the conclusion is very short. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example explicitly to the paragraph’s main claim; this would make the organisation more consistently logical.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “cultural patterns,” “historical patterns,” “practical skills,” and “future careers,” so the reader can identify the main subject matter. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or misspelled expressions make meaning less clear, such as “History learn our cultural and patterns,” “directely conceted,” and “Scientific technology need all the work.” Repetition of “important,” “subject,” and “technology” also limits precision. Aim for accurate collocations and a wider set of terms for explaining benefits, such as “preserve cultural heritage” or “support medical innovation.” Proofread spelling and choose phrases that express the intended relationship clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast between the two views and a reason introduced by “because.” The paragraph structure also helps separate the main points. However, grammatical control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make sentences difficult to interpret. Examples include “education play” instead of “education plays,” “History is essential subject” without an article, and “The school should teach students about history, they know…” where two clauses are joined incorrectly. The final sentence, “modern society havily depen on scientific,” is also incomplete in its current form. Practise subject–verb agreement, articles, and joining clauses with appropriate punctuation or conjunctions.
