Student answer (Band 5.5)

Many individuals argued that history have became helpful for students well-being, while numerous people have debating that science and technology are more crucial for students. In my perspective both are beneficial academic students. This essay will highlight both points and conclude my opinion.

On the first hand, history is crucial for the students mental growth because that have covered historical data and dates of projects, which gives encouragement to students to do something for their country. For instance, history of mughals in the ancient books gives students a good moral of humanity and make the students a true patriot. Furthermore, history not only benficial for morals but also useful to engage the youth with their traditional cultures, thereby various people prefer history is a compulsory subject.

On the second hand, In this modern era lifespan is converting to science and technology beacuse of its reliability and productivity. So, student must have to know about the use of technology. For example, Elon Musk is the most richest person today,he represents space and new technology of cars all are based on those subjects. In addition, Science and technology subjects enables students to make something modern in technology by using the methods of science. By using of technology they can easily make softwares which are useful in different departments such as medical and university portal.

To recapitulate, Although history is crucial for students overall mental growth besides that, the benefits of science and technology are far bigger. Maintaining both subjects in balanced ways are crucial for the parents and schools.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both sides of the discussion and give a clear overall preference: the conclusion says science and technology offer greater benefits, while also supporting a balance between subjects. The history paragraph gives relevant reasons about cultural knowledge and patriotism, and the technology paragraph explains practical applications such as software in medical and university settings. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. The example of Elon Musk, for instance, does not clearly show how studying these school subjects leads to his achievements, and the claim that history encourages students to serve their country could use a more specific explanation. Develop each main reason with a clearer link to students’ lives and your opinion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, one paragraph for each viewpoint, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “On the first hand,” “On the second hand,” and “To recapitulate” helps readers follow the discussion, and examples are placed alongside the relevant arguments. At times, however, the linking feels mechanical, and some connections between sentences are not fully clear. For example, the move from history’s “mental growth” to “historical data and dates of projects” does not explain the relationship between the ideas. The final sentence about parents and schools also introduces a new recommendation rather than clearly drawing together the preceding argument. Use more natural transitions and make each paragraph’s progression explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “historical data,” “traditional cultures,” “reliability,” “productivity,” and “departments.” These choices show an attempt to discuss both cultural and practical benefits. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, which sometimes makes the meaning less precise: “students well-being,” “a good moral of humanity,” and “lifespan is converting to science and technology” are examples. There are also spelling errors such as “benficial” and “beacuse,” alongside imprecise phrases such as “make softwares.” Aim for natural combinations of words and check spelling; this will make your ideas clearer without requiring more complicated vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast clause beginning “Although history is crucial” and a result clause using “thereby.” Some sentences communicate their main point, but errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction recur. For example, “history have became” should use a correctly formed singular verb, while “Science and technology subjects enables” has a subject–verb agreement problem. The conclusion’s “Although … besides that” combines structures in a way that makes the sentence difficult to follow. Punctuation also needs attention, as in “today,he represents.” Practise building accurate sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check that each clause has a clear grammatical structure.
