Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some people of the country think that history is one of the most important subject for school students but some are against this statement and thay think that science and technology are more important than history according to the present age. The people who think that history is more important actually they are very loyal with their country and are patriot. So in the love of their nation they want that their generations also have to know about the history of their country. On the other hand the people who think that science and technology are more imporatnt than history because accoring to the present time and present age they want that their generations should learn more about science and technology so that they will become sucessful in thir life.
Both the statemnets are true because boyh are based upon the love for their country and their generations. Both of people are thinking about the benefit of their generations. But in my opinon science and technology should be preffered over history and this is ,more important than history subject for the school students.
I prefer this subject because according to the present time technology is changing the world very rapidly and i think that this subject should be made mandatory if we want the benefit of our country and benefit of our new generations. This is need of present time.
I am not against the history subject but i think that it is not more important than science and technology subject because history is a subvject that a student can learn any leisure time if he or she is interested in this. But science and technology subjects atre need of present time and we should not prefer any subject over these subjects.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss both positions and state a clear preference for science and technology, especially in “in my opinion science and technology should be preferred over history.” You also give a reason: technology is changing the world rapidly and is important for future generations. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The explanation of the history-supporting view mainly says that people are patriotic and want younger generations to know their country’s past; it does not explain what students gain from studying history. Likewise, the benefits of science and technology remain general, with no specific example or evidence. Develop each side with a concrete educational benefit, then explain why your chosen subject should take priority while acknowledging history’s value.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable overall structure: it introduces both views, gives your opinion, and then explains that preference. Connectors such as “On the other hand,” “But,” and “I am not against” help signal contrast. However, progression within the discussion is limited, and several ideas are repeated, particularly the claims that both groups care about their country and generations and that science and technology are needed in the present age. Some links are awkward or unclear, as in “Both of people are thinking about the benefit of their generations.” Use paragraphs to separate the two views and your evaluation, and make each paragraph advance a distinct point rather than restating earlier claims.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the central comparison, using relevant terms such as “history,” “science and technology,” “mandatory,” and “generations.” However, the range is limited and several expressions are repetitive or imprecise, including repeated use of “present time” and “present age.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-form errors, such as “sucessful,” “thir,” “preffered,” and “subvject,” which reduce the accuracy and polish of the writing. Some collocations are unnatural, for example “very loyal with their country” and “learn any leisure time.” Aim for more precise academic phrasing and check spelling carefully; varied vocabulary should clarify the argument rather than repeat the same general terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “because” and “so that,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in agreement and sentence construction appear in phrases such as “history is one of the most important subject” and “the people who think that history is more important actually they are very loyal.” Articles and plural forms are also unreliable, as in “the history subject” and “science and technology subject.” Punctuation and spacing sometimes make sentences difficult to follow, particularly where a new sentence begins after “country.” or “generations.” These errors can interrupt reading, even though your main meaning is generally understandable. Practise building accurate complex sentences and proofread for agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries.
