Student answer (Band 4.5)
I will give importance to technology and science subjects.Because in the age of technology we should move forward. If we study the subject of History is will be of no use.In that age no one will question to us about the birth and death of Razia Khanam and Jahangir. World is moving too fast we should follow the trends new and novel world. By learning history it will just increase our knowledge but will not ready us for the new challanges of world. Now the world is progressing with high speed like people are making robots, technology and equipments for the ease of the world. If we look at the technology we will come to know that science has a great infiuence on our daily routines. The alarm awakes us, we can intertain ourselves on TV and moble phones. We can also go to the cinema theaters to awtch any movie. Now we can bake the things in oven and now there is no need to use wood for the purpose of fire. There is proper gas system for cooking purpose. Now there is no need to go outside for the buing of things we can now order things by online system. The security system is now very strong and apreciable. So science subjects and technology subjects are more important than History. History is the symbol of oldness. If we sudy technology subjects then we we able to do the above examples. So I prefered knowledge and technology because of its advantages.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
Your position is clear: you favour science and technology, and you give relevant everyday examples such as alarms, phones, ovens and online shopping. However, the task asks you to discuss both views, and the response gives almost no account of why History might be important. The brief claim that it increases knowledge is not developed or supported, so one major part of the task is only minimally addressed. Your reasons for prioritising technology are also mostly listed rather than explained; for example, you could show how studying science prepares students for particular careers or helps solve modern problems. Develop both perspectives and support them with specific explanations before reaching your conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The response has a recognisable overall direction: it states a preference, gives examples of technology in daily life, and ends by restating that preference. However, ideas are not arranged into clear paragraphs, and the discussion moves through a long sequence of examples without grouping or prioritising them. Repeated links such as “Now” and “So” make the progression feel list-like, while “If we look at the technology” does not clearly connect the examples to the argument. Use separate paragraphs for the case for History, the case for science and technology, and your opinion. Within each, use a clear topic sentence and explain how each example supports the point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your main preference, including “technology,” “science,” “security system,” and “daily routines.” There are also attempts at more descriptive phrasing, such as “move forward” and “progressing with high speed.” However, the range is limited and several choices or spellings are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the reader pause: “intertain,” “moble,” “awtch,” and “apreciable.” Some expressions are also unnatural, including “the trends new and novel world” and “for the buing of things.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and a wider range of terms for education and historical value, such as “preserve cultural heritage” or “develop scientific skills.” Proofread spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You communicate your main ideas using mostly short, direct statements, and you attempt some longer structures, for example, “If we look at the technology we will come to know…” and “By learning history it will just increase our knowledge…”. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence construction, verb forms, and punctuation. “Because in the age of technology we should move forward” is a fragment, while “If we study the subject of History is will be of no use” has an incorrect clause structure. In “then we we able to do,” the verb is missing, and “I prefered” uses an incorrect past form for a present opinion. Practise complete sentences, accurate conditional patterns, and consistent present-tense forms; check sentence boundaries and spacing after full stops.
