Student answer (Band 5.0)
Some people believe that teaching history to pupils in school is very important. While other thinks that, In this modern era we should teach students subjects like science and technology. We will discuss both sides in this essay and we will give our opinion.
On one hand, Firstly, Teaching history subjects to pupils is important because students could know about how old people live their lifes or how old people have tried to give us freedom. For example, In schools when teachers teach students about history subject. Student will learn how difficult life was in early 19's and how much struggle people did on that time. Moreover, New generation will get motivation from history subjects. For instance, In pakistan when students see how there old people got freedom from hinduism how they did fight and not give-up for thier different country. Students learn that they don't have to give up in any moment of their life. When ever pupils feel demotivated or feel they are going to lose and then when they start thinking what they learned from history subjects. They start feeling motivated.
On the other hand, Secondly, Sceince and technology subjects are also very beneficial for students. Some childrens wants to become doctor and serve for the people. Then they should learn science subjects. In addition, Some pupils aim's is to become a engineer. There dream is to build their own company and run differnet industries. These types of students have to learn technologies subjects.
In conclusion, I would like to say that, Teaching history subjects in school have pros like students learn about how old people live their life and what happened in the past. Sceince and technology should also learn in schools for doctors and engineers.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both views and state that History is important while Science and Technology are also beneficial. The examples about learning from past struggles and preparing for careers such as medicine and engineering are relevant to the question. However, the discussion is only partly developed: the History paragraph repeats the idea that the past can motivate students, while the Science and Technology paragraph mainly lists career goals without explaining their wider value in today’s society. Your own position is also not fully clear, since the conclusion presents both subjects as useful but does not say which view you support or how you would balance them. Develop each side with a clearer explanation and make your opinion explicit throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion, so the reader can follow its basic organisation. You also use signposts such as “On one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion.” However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes repetitive: the History section returns several times to the idea that students gain motivation from the past. The sequence markers “Firstly” and “Secondly” feel mechanical, and some links between sentences are unclear, particularly the long explanation beginning “Whenever pupils feel demotivated.” Organise each paragraph around one main point, then explain and illustrate it once. Use referencing and transitions more precisely to make the relationships between ideas clear.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “freedom,” “motivation,” “industries,” and “technology.” However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “students,” “history subjects,” and “learn.” Some choices are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “old people” for people in the past, “got freedom from hinduism,” and “technologies subjects”; these can make parts of the argument difficult to interpret. Spelling errors such as “Sceince,” “thier,” and “differnet” also reduce precision. Build a more varied set of accurate terms for historical events and modern careers, and check spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including a conditional idea in “Some children want to become doctors… Then they should learn science subjects.” However, the range is limited, and attempts at longer structures are often faulty. For example, “While other thinks that” is an incomplete contrast and has subject–verb agreement problems; “Teaching history subjects in school have pros” also has agreement and sentence-structure errors. There are recurring issues with articles, plurals, and verb forms, as in “a engineer” and “students could know.” Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, particularly after commas and at the start of sentences. Practise accurate sentence patterns and review agreement, articles, and punctuation.
