Student answer (Band 5.5)
Unquestionably, every coin has two sides and so are the people. Society's people are divided into two groups. Some individuals believe that History is one of the essential school subject. While the other people think that in recent's years technology and science subjects are more important than History and I also believe that this is the need of this era.
On the one hand, teach history as a subject to the school students is significant. Children should know their country's history. We should do prefer to learn the history and culture of our country. If tourist came to our country, we should be able to tell them the history of our country. Like if we go to visit our historical places in Lahore, we should know it's history. It is very important subject to teach in school because today's generation is very far away from history. Even they do not know the culture of their country. This could be help them in their future.
Moreover, some people consider that in today's world science subjects and technology are the more subjects to teah than history. Technology plays a vital role in our lives. We rely too much on artificial technology in every aspect of life. Science subject is also very significant. Because with the help of science, we can become a developed country. Automation is a vey fundamental because every machinary works with science. The children of the school level should have the basic knowledge of technology and science. This trend could be very beneficial for them in their future and job career.
In conclusion, history is a important subject to teach but science and technology is more impotant than history because this plays a significant role in our lives.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the discussion and state your own view: the introduction says science and technology are more important “in this era,” and the conclusion repeats that position. The history paragraph gives relevant reasons, including understanding national culture and explaining historical places in Lahore; the science paragraph also mentions development, automation and future employment. This covers the task, but some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the claim that science can make the country developed would be stronger with a specific example of how scientific learning contributes to development. Your opinion could also be justified more directly by comparing the practical benefits of science with the cultural value of history. Develop these links to make the response more convincing and balanced.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each viewpoint, and a conclusion. The signposts “On the one hand,” “Moreover,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the discussion. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. “Moreover” introduces the opposing view rather than adding another point to the previous one, and “This could be help them in their future” has an unclear reference. The opening comments about people being divided repeat the task without advancing the argument. Improve progression by using topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main claim, then connect each example explicitly to that claim. Clearer referencing and more purposeful transitions would make the organisation smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “culture,” “historical places,” “automation,” and “developed country,” so the reader can understand the main ideas. However, the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or repetitive, which makes parts of the response less natural. Examples include “essential school subject,” “the more subjects to teach,” “artificial technology,” and “job career.” There are also spelling errors such as “teah,” “v ey,” “machinary,” and “impotant.” Aim for more precise collocations and check spelling carefully; for instance, describe technology as being widely used or relied upon, rather than “artificial technology.” Vary repeated words such as “important” and “significant” with context-appropriate alternatives.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including “If tourist came to our country, we should be able to tell them…” and a sentence beginning “Because with the help of science…”. However, some structures are faulty, and errors with agreement, articles and verb forms recur. For example, “History is a important subject” needs the article “an,” while “science and technology is” requires a plural verb in this context. “If tourist came” also needs a plural or correctly formed singular noun, and “This could be help them” has an incorrect verb pattern. The sentence fragment beginning “Because” should be joined to the preceding idea or rewritten as a complete sentence. Practise accurate sentence patterns and proofread agreement and articles while retaining your attempts at complex sentences.
