Student answer (Band 5.5)

In todays rapidly changing world science technology and histroy became the matter of considerably debate ,while some people argue that science and technology are more curcial subjects while, others believes that history is the most important subject for students to study in school. In this essay we will discuss both prespectives.

Science and technology are play an signification role in our life and world. In this world we are surrounded by inventions which was possible by the help of science and technology.Science gave us the idea how to use materials to invent technology in addition technology provides us the comforts. For exmaple in acient time people use science to creat wheel and built a cart and tecchnology help to manufactured cars. There are several advantages of science and technology but on the other side few advantage we are facing like mobile and application are the face of tecchnology, people spend their most of time watching videos and watching reels on social media and wasting their time.Although, this approch offers several disadvantages but the advantages are more significant . This why i strongly agree that science and technology are the most important subjects for school student.

On the other hand, history is also playing a vital role in our life .Through history we can learn about lots of things and invention.History inform us about those people who used science and invent so many things like cars, bulbs ,computer mobiles, laptops etc.MOstly developed countries are using history to improve their life and enviroement. In countries armies use battle stratorgies which learned from history. For example countries built dams to save theirs countries from floods and these idea all comes from history.

In comparison, technology and science are involved in important things for future.Whereas history can not be a part of future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You discuss both perspectives and state a clear preference for science and technology, particularly in “I strongly agree that science and technology are the most important subjects.” The examples about inventions and military strategies are relevant, so the response addresses the main parts of the task. However, the discussion is only partly developed: the benefits of studying history are mostly described as learning about inventions and past strategies, without explaining in depth how this knowledge helps students or society today. The final claim that history “can not be a part of future” is also asserted rather than supported, and it sits uneasily beside your earlier points about learning from the past. Develop each side with a clearer reason and a specific, explained example, and make your conclusion follow logically from your argument.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph on science and technology, a paragraph on history, and a brief comparison. This helps readers identify the two views. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow, and the final comparison does not fully bring the discussion together. Connectors such as “On the other hand” and “In comparison” are useful, but some are awkwardly used or do not show the precise relationship between ideas; for example, “Although, this approch offers several disadvantages but…” combines contrasting signals. References such as “these idea” and “this” are not always clear. Use topic sentences to guide each paragraph, link examples explicitly to the point they support, and write a conclusion that restates your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “inventions,” “advantages,” “battle strategies,” and “environment,” and you use some topic-specific terms to discuss both subjects. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts of the response harder to read, such as “histroy,” “curcial,” “signification role,” and “stratorgies.” Some combinations are also unnatural, including “the matter of considerably debate” and “history inform us.” Repetition of “science and technology,” “important,” and “things” limits precision. Build a reliable set of accurate academic collocations, and check spelling and word forms carefully. For instance, use “a significant role,” “considerable debate,” and “historical strategies” where appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast with “Although” and a relative clause in “inventions which was possible.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to process. Examples include “Science and technology are play,” “others believes,” and “people spend their most of time”; these show problems with verb forms, subject–verb agreement, and sentence construction. Articles and plurals are also inconsistent, as in “an signification role” and “these idea.” Punctuation is often missing around clauses, creating run-on sentences. Practise building accurate sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and contrast structures; check agreement, articles, and clause boundaries during editing.
