Student answer (Band 5.0)
In modern generation, History and course like science and technology both are equally important for students. There is ongoing debate about some individual think that History is important at school, while other say subject like science and technology are more important than history. I strongly belived that both courses are equally important because they helps them become indipentent and socia and socially aware individuals.
On the one hand, childrens should know about the history of our country because it helps them to know about our culture, tredition and language, while it helps them to know about old laws and what are the new laus added and History course helps them to know about our insestors, for example our insisters fought with others countries to protect our country and protect our culture and tredition, moreover they change so many rules and regulation like sathi partha. As a result childrens become socially aware and they learn the importance of preserving history and cultural heritage.
On the another hand, students should know about modern science and technology because it helps them to become knowledgable and indipendent. However science and technology helps children to gain new skills and know about new technical and elcctronic equipment. it develop childrens skills like

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You present a relevant opinion—that History and science/technology are equally important—and discuss both sides. The History paragraph gives reasons about culture, laws and ancestors, with an example of social reform, so the response is not off-topic. However, the discussion is only partial: the science/technology paragraph stops mid-sentence (“it develop childrens skills like”), and there is no conclusion to reinforce your view. The ideas are therefore limited and under-developed, particularly on the second perspective. The response contains 197 words, which is 53 words below the required minimum; the nine words copied from the prompt are excluded. To strengthen the response, complete both sides with specific explanations or examples and add a concise conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some organisation: an introduction is followed by a paragraph beginning “On the one hand” and another beginning “On the another hand.” These signals help readers recognise the two viewpoints, and the History paragraph has a basic cause-and-effect sequence. However, progression is not sustained because the final paragraph ends abruptly, leaving the argument incomplete, and there is no concluding paragraph. Several ideas in the History section are joined into a long chain with repeated “and” and “while,” making their relationships less clear. Some linking expressions, such as “However,” do not clearly show a contrast in context. Use shorter, logically grouped sentences, clearer links between reasons and examples, and a conclusion that returns to your opinion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use a basic range of topic-related vocabulary, including “culture,” “tradition,” “technical,” “equipment,” and “cultural heritage.” These choices make the general subject understandable. However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors make reading less smooth, for example “indipentent,” “tredition,” “insestors,” and “sathi partha.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “modern generation” and “become knowledgeable and independent.” Aim for accurate spelling and more natural collocations, and use precise terms when describing historical examples. Replacing repeated general words such as “helps” with suitable alternatives can also make the discussion more varied, provided the alternatives fit the meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a complex opening with “because” and a sentence using “while.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. Examples include “they helps them,” “it develop childrens skills,” and “what are the new laws added,” which show problems with subject–verb agreement and sentence construction. The long sentence about ancestors and laws also joins several clauses without clear grammatical control. The final sentence is incomplete, ending with “like.” Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and complete sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and examples. Check agreement, articles, and punctuation when editing.
