Student answer (Band 5.0)

In today's modern world, most of the prople are interested in science and technology books. Because science is the need of this time, and it make our life more easier and convenient. Some people are intersted in history books, both views are briefly discussed below.

I am agree with the first statement, because i think that instead of history books, science and technology books are most important in schools. Because it several reasons, reading science and technology books in schools make the childrens innovative. They became creative and in the future it will be very beneficial for them. Firstly reading science subjects will teach students about the modern day experiments and innovation. For example, after studying science and technology books most of the students join different fields like AI, software engineering, physics and chemistry etc.

Similarly, teaching science and technology subject in schools help students to become professional in this field. Like a person start his own business which is a big source of accomplishment for him. Moreover, they can earn online to support their families, and can manage their own expenses. For example, after studying science and technology most people start businesses like restaurants, software houses and amazon businesses.

Studying history books in schools are less important in my perspective. because they only learn about past people way of life and about their incestors. Instead of this studying these subjects teaching science and technology books are more fruitful.

In conclusion, both group of people are thinking accurately. But in my opinion science and technology books are more essential than the history books, because it has alot of benefits.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You state a clear preference for science and technology, and you give relevant reasons, such as developing students’ creativity and preparing them for careers. However, the task asks you to discuss both views, and the case for studying history receives only a brief, dismissive paragraph: you mention learning about past ways of life and ancestors but do not explain why this knowledge might matter. Several supporting claims about business and earning online are also asserted rather than clearly connected to school subjects. To strengthen the response, explain the value of history—for example, how it helps students understand social change—and develop a balanced comparison before giving your opinion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, paragraphs presenting your preference, a paragraph on history, and a conclusion. Basic signposting such as “Firstly,” “Similarly,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the main direction. However, progression is uneven: the two body paragraphs supporting science repeat similar benefits, while the history paragraph is very short and does not develop the other side of the discussion. Some links are mechanical or unclear, including the opening fragment beginning “Because science is the need of this time” and the transition “Instead of this.” Organise the body around one paragraph for each view, use clear links between claims and examples, and avoid repeating the same point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a basic range of topic-related vocabulary, including “innovative,” “experiments,” “software engineering,” and “beneficial,” so the main subject is clear. However, vocabulary is often repetitive, particularly “science and technology books” and “important,” and some choices or combinations are inaccurate or imprecise, such as “a big source of accomplishment” and “amazon businesses.” There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “prople,” “intersted,” and “incestors,” which reduce the accuracy of the writing. Aim to use more precise academic phrases and check spelling carefully; for instance, distinguish studying science subjects from reading books about them, and describe specific career or economic benefits.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some longer sentences and use basic connectors, but the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make parts of the response awkward. Examples include “I am agree” instead of “I agree,” “it make our life” instead of “it makes our lives,” and “reading science subjects … make the childrens innovative,” where subject–verb agreement and plural forms are not controlled. The opening “Because science is the need of this time” is a fragment, and “Studying history books in schools are” has a subject–verb agreement error. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a supporting clause, then check verb forms, articles, agreement, and punctuation.
