Student answer (Band 5.5)
In contemporary society, the issue of history subjects has become increasingly prominent. Whether, some people claims that in future science and technology plays a significant role throughout the world. There is an ongoing debate as to whether which one has more crucial.
I firmly contend that, history is a well known subject in many schools. But in future, science and technology will gain more importance rather than history. Moreover, science expands general knowledge related to species such as, humans plants and animals. It clarifies many topics that is specifically relates to human health. Science provide information and scientists proved that information through experiments. For instance, during corona virus, scientists made vaccine to prevent this pandemic. This is all performed by science and experiments. Furthermore, science and technology both are correlated. Technology is changing so quickly without basic scientific knowledge people can easily Scammed. To illustrate cybersecurity hacking is very common issue hackers steal the credentials and password of sensitive data. In addition, technology provide vast variety of many apps such as Al, chatgpt and much more. In many countries, students are more dependent on AI tools to gain knowledge about science subject. As a direct consequences, In the field of medicine requires technology to enhance the productivity.
Equally important is the fact that, history provides knowledge about the ancient time. It teaches how societies work, why wars start, how economics collapse and much more. It builds the society. A major concern is that, history lose the interest while students studying. Because, it precises' knowledge about dates, numbers and years.
In my opinion, both statements are justified. As policy makers should prioritise both subjects in consideration.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both sides of the discussion and state a position: science and technology will become more important, while your conclusion says both subjects deserve attention. The examples about vaccine development and cybersecurity are relevant and help explain the value of science and technology. However, the history side is less developed: you mention that it explains societies, wars and economic collapse, but do not give a specific example or explain why this knowledge matters today. Your position also shifts between favouring science and technology and treating both subjects as equally important, so the reader is not always sure of your final view. Make your opinion consistent throughout and develop each side with a clear reason and supporting example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an opening, a substantial discussion of science and technology, a paragraph on history, and a concluding opinion. Linking expressions such as “For instance,” “Furthermore,” and “Equally important” help signal relationships between ideas. However, progression is uneven: the science paragraph contains several different points, while the history paragraph is brief, and the conclusion introduces the idea of policy makers without clearly connecting it to the preceding argument. Some transitions are mechanical or awkward, including “Equally important is the fact that” and “As a direct consequences.” Organise the body into balanced paragraphs, with one main idea developed at a time, and use clear references to connect each example to the argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “experiments,” “cybersecurity,” “credentials,” “sensitive data,” and “productivity.” These choices show an attempt to discuss both subjects in relevant terms. However, inaccurate word choice and collocation are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less clear. For example, “history subjects” is unnatural in this context, “it precises’ knowledge” does not express the intended idea, and “people can easily Scammed” is not an appropriate phrase. There are also imprecise expressions such as “vast variety of many apps” and “the ancient time.” Aim for natural academic collocations and check word forms and spelling; precise, familiar vocabulary is more effective than awkward or unclear phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including explanations with “Because” and examples introduced by “For instance.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors occur in basic sentence construction as well as longer structures. For example, “some people claims” has subject–verb disagreement, “science provide” and “history lose” use incorrect verb forms, and “There is an ongoing debate as to whether which one” has a faulty clause structure. Articles and punctuation are also unreliable, as in “during corona virus” and the comma after “Moreover.” These errors sometimes make the reader pause to interpret your meaning. Build accuracy by checking agreement, verb forms, and complete clause structure, then use complex sentences only when you can control them.
