Student answer (Band 5.0)
People have different views regarding History subject. While some believe that it is one of the most important school subjects, others argue that now a days global subjects like Science and technology are more important. This essay will discuss both perspectives, and I strongly believe that world subjects generally more beneficial.
On the one hand, supporters of History subject is more important to teach in schools argue that they believe it is crucial to know about own country history. This is because new generation is know nothing about own country or freedom fighters. For instance students of 10th or 12th class they don't know about indian freedom journey and who operate India before the period of 1947. Consequently students not set target to become a Scientist or Engineer, while their aim is to become influencer or youtuber.
On the other hand, those who support today's world subjects is crucial to study in schools like Science and technology, point out that it is future for every developed country. Furthermore, if students of any country learn about Science and technology then they will develope country and economy. Whereas the students who learn history in schools. I find this view more convincing because today's need improvement rather than story or details for many countries.
In conclusion, both views have reasonable arguements. However, I believe that Science and technology is more important to study for bright future because history is boring subject for today generation they are not intereted in it, they want to developed a new skills and build something new.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both sides and state a clear preference for Science and technology, especially in the introduction and conclusion. The point that these subjects can support national development is relevant, while the history paragraph gives an example about students’ limited knowledge of India’s independence. However, the discussion is only partly developed: the link between learning history and students choosing to become influencers or YouTubers is unclear, and the benefits of history are not explained beyond knowing the country’s past. Your opinion that modern subjects are more beneficial is present, but needs fuller reasoning and a more balanced comparison. The response is also 242 words, below the required 250; the 16 words copied from the task prompt are not included in that count.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the broad direction. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven. The history paragraph moves from national knowledge to career ambitions without clearly explaining the connection, and “Whereas the students who learn history in schools” is an incomplete thought that interrupts the second body paragraph. Some linking is mechanical, and references such as “this view” could be made more precise. To improve, organise each paragraph around one main claim, then explain and illustrate it before moving to the next point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “freedom fighters,” “developed country,” “economy,” and “bright future,” so the reader can understand the main subject and your position. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, which sometimes makes the argument less clear. Examples include “global subjects” for modern or contemporary subjects, “world subjects,” and “it is future for every developed country.” There are also spelling errors such as “develope,” “arguements,” and “intereted.” Aim for more precise academic phrasing and check spelling carefully. Replacing repeated general terms with accurate expressions will make your comparisons clearer and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a contrastive opening with “While” and a conditional sentence beginning “if students…”. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently, including in sentences where the intended meaning is understandable. For example, “supporters of History subject is more important” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “new generation is know nothing” combines an incorrect verb form with faulty sentence structure. “I strongly believe that world subjects generally more beneficial” is missing a verb, and “students of 10th or 12th class they don't know” has an awkward, duplicated subject. Practise accurate clause construction, agreement, articles, and complete sentences before adding more complex structures.
