Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is widely believed by some peoplethat studying History subject is an essential part of academics. However, other people are convinced that in the modern world, the advance subjects like science and technology has more value than history. In my opinion, every subject has its own importance and should be teach to the children.
History is a very important subject and has a very high status. Students who study history are studied to be very sharp and interested in politics. History is a subject that tells the past background of any area or a person. HIstory includes all the field of studies, for example, partition of countries, people who rules the areas, the importance of the specific land, the past trade and businesses of the area as well as the information about the ancient civilizations. For example, in Turkey, people have recently discvered Noah's arc, an ancient boat belonged to prophet Noah. People who are interested in history are amazed by this discovery.
The oher subjects including science and technology also play a very important role in academic studies. Science and technology are opposite but parallel subjects to the history. As history tells about the past, same in this way science and technology gives the information about modernized society in the present and future. Modern world has progressed a lot because of science, furthermore, science has the correlation with the history as many scientific technology has been used in different historcal places and things. For example, archeologists use science devices to tell that how old a fossil is and which specie it belonged to.
To put it in a nutshell, science and history plays the interdisciplinary roles. Both subjects are equally important and shoud be teach in the schools.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the discussion and state a clear opinion: “every subject has its own importance.” The history paragraph gives relevant examples of what the subject covers, while the science paragraph explains its role in understanding the present and future and connects it to archaeology. These points make the response relevant to the question. However, the two views are not developed equally in depth: the benefits of studying history are described broadly, and the science argument would be stronger with a clearer explanation of how scientific and technological knowledge benefits students or society. The Noah’s Ark example is also presented without explaining how it supports the value of history. Develop each main claim with a specific consequence and a directly relevant example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each subject area, and a concluding statement. Transitions such as “However,” “For example,” and “To put it in a nutshell” help signal the direction of the discussion. The progression within the science paragraph—from the subjects’ roles to archaeology—is also understandable. At times, though, connections are mechanical or unclear. “Science and technology are opposite but parallel subjects” does not clearly express the relationship, and “as history tells about the past, same in this way” is an awkward link between ideas. Some references, such as “this discovery,” could be tied more explicitly to the point being made. Use clearer topic sentences and connect examples directly to the claims they illustrate.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “ancient civilizations,” “scientific technology,” “archaeologists,” and “fossil,” which helps communicate the subject matter. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “interdisciplinary roles.” However, inaccurate word choice and collocation sometimes make ideas less natural or precise: “advance subjects,” “modernized society,” and “people who rules the areas” are examples. Spelling errors such as “discvered,” “oher,” “historcal,” and “shoud” also reduce accuracy. Aim to use familiar academic expressions accurately before reaching for more elaborate wording, and proofread carefully. More precise terms for the benefits of each subject would also help you explain your ideas with greater clarity.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “who,” “as,” and “because.” Most of the meaning remains understandable, and the response includes some longer sentences to explain relationships between subjects. However, some errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction remain. For example, “science and technology has more value” needs a plural verb, while “should be teach” should use a passive participle. In “Students who study history are studied,” the verb form obscures the intended meaning. The sentence beginning “For example, archeologists use science devices to tell that how old…” also has an awkward clause structure. Review subject–verb agreement and passive forms, and practise building complex sentences with clear, accurate clauses.
