Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is often being said by the people that History is one of the main subjects in school. Whereas some people priorities Science and technology as the most important subject more than History. However, both the subjects are indirectly connected and have the various benefits by learning both. I will discuss about both the subjects with an example.

To begin with, History is a theoritical subjects and it is mainly used to know about the things happened in the past. In schools, History is included because it encourages the students to know about ancient times and related things in the past. therefore, pupils can learn about different Scluptures, Artwork, Paintings or many fossils available as they can research on it and can apply in today's world. In addition, many schools are arranging field trips to ancient places for exploring the place and it is a very great advantage. For example, by analysing and physically collecting the historical information could help a student to make his own research and there are plethora chances that he might invent something new. As a result, some people believe History is one of the most important subjects, but it is well connected with the other subjects too.

On the other hand, people who think Science and technological is more important than History is a partial truth, because Science is a practical subject, and experiment based. In addition, students can level up their thinking capabilities, pattern findings, brain storming by learning Science subjects. For example, there are many other subjects too, but Science is the only subject where a person has to think, calculate and analyse the past scenarioes just to implement the particular thing. As a result, Science needs more focus and sharp mind to study. Whereas History can be learned by reading the several passages.

In conclusion, My personal opinion will be on equal side because both the subjects have different learning ways with their own various advantages in many fields. History is a powerful subject for those students who want to pursue their career as an archielogist and eventually, Science would be chosen by students who want research or develop something. At the end, both are at equal place in terms of subjects.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both sides of the discussion and give a clear personal view: the conclusion says the subjects should be considered equally valuable. The History paragraph explains its role in learning about the past and mentions research and field trips; the Science paragraph highlights practical work and analytical thinking. These are relevant points, but some support is unclear or not fully developed. For instance, the claim that historical research may help a student “invent something new” is not explained, and the Science example about analysing “past scenarios” does not clearly show why the subject is more important. Develop each argument with a specific, convincing example and explain how it supports the comparison. Your position is present, though it would be stronger if stated more directly in the introduction and maintained consistently.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two viewpoints, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the discussion. However, some links are mechanical or do not express the relationship between ideas accurately. For example, “As a result” introduces claims that are not clearly consequences of the preceding points, and “Whereas” begins a fragment-like transition in the Science paragraph. References such as “it” in “can research on it” are also unclear. Improve cohesion by making the connection between each example and its main point explicit, and use fewer formulaic transitions where a direct link would be clearer.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a reasonable range of topic-related vocabulary, including “ancient times,” “field trips,” “analysing,” “pattern findings,” and “pursue their career.” There are also attempts at more academic phrasing, such as “historical information” and “thinking capabilities.” However, inaccurate word forms, spelling, and collocations sometimes make the expression awkward or imprecise. Examples include “theoritical,” “Scluptures,” “scenarioes,” and “archielogist,” as well as “Science and technological” and “a plethora chances.” Some phrases, such as “level up their thinking capabilities,” are informal for an academic essay. Aim for accurate, natural combinations and check spelling and word forms carefully; this would make your ideas easier to understand and more precise.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because,” “as,” and “who,” and the overall meaning is generally understandable. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with articles, agreement, and sentence construction. For example, “History is a theoritical subjects” has mismatched article and number, while “people who think … is a partial truth” has an unclear subject–verb relationship. The opening “It is often being said by the people” is also an awkward passive construction, and “I will discuss about” uses an unnecessary preposition. Review singular and plural agreement, article use, and the structure of introductory clauses. More accurate control of these patterns, alongside your existing sentence variety, would strengthen the writing.
