Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You state a clear opinion—“History is as important subject as Science and Technology”—and begin to explain why historical knowledge matters, including a reference to Urdu and Pakistan. However, the response addresses the task only minimally: it does not explain the opposing view that science and technology are more important, and the example about Urdu is left unfinished (“We know how it come”). The reasons offered are brief and not developed with supporting detail. The response also does not meet the required minimum length, so there is not enough material to discuss both views or substantiate your position. To improve, explain one benefit of studying History and one benefit of science and technology, then support each with a complete, relevant example before concluding with your view.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: the opening introduces the debate and your opinion, followed by a paragraph beginning “Knowing the history of something.” The example about Pakistan and Urdu also signals an effort to develop an idea. However, the response stops before the argument has a clear progression or conclusion, and the opposing perspective is not organised into a separate point. Connections between sentences are limited, while “For example” is repeated without enough explanation of how the example supports the claim. The final sentence is incomplete, which leaves the reader without a finished line of reasoning. Use distinct paragraphs for each view and your opinion, and connect each claim to an explanation and a completed example.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “History,” “culture,” “traditions,” “Science and technology,” and “perspectives.” This gives the reader a basic sense of the subject being discussed. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “History” and “subject.” Some choices are inaccurate or awkward, such as “very essential,” “major subjects,” and “Knowing the history of something,” which reduce naturalness and precision. Spelling errors such as “disgree” and “rather then” are also noticeable. Build a wider set of topic-specific expressions, such as “historical understanding,” “scientific innovation,” and “technological progress,” and check spelling and collocations during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response mainly uses simple sentence patterns, with a few attempts to add detail through examples and a relative clause, as in “the thing can be city, state or person.” Some meaning is understandable, but frequent errors in sentence structure, articles, agreement, and punctuation make the writing less controlled. For instance, “History is as important subject” needs an article, and “Knowing the history tell us” has a subject–verb agreement error. The opening also runs several sentences together without spaces after full stops, and “We know how it come” is grammatically incomplete. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then extend them with clauses such as “because” or “which,” checking articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries.
