Student answer (Band 6.0)
Certain individuals argue that in schools History subject is most important. Whereas, some people think that nowadays Science and technology are more values than History. We will discuss both of these view points before concluding why second point is more valid.
To begin with the first point, History is very crusial for our culture and tradition and most of the people's values are connected with history of their nation. If History is most important subject in school's than more and more students learn about different kings and their kingdoms, historical places, and how ancient people's were living and their culture and tradition. For instance, In India all people were follow their tradition and culture by listing, reading and aquired knowledge about their history, and on also know how many kings were ruled on India and different historical places how it were built that also learn from this subject.
Go with the second point, Nowadays Science and technology are growing faster and it also helps to become a better future for our lifestyle. If students are focusing on science than it develops new ideas and new innovations for future, and It helps people to live better and more convenient in also aspects. The best example of this is todays advance medicalcare, nowadays with the help of technology and advance medical machinery we can easily detect cancer like disease and easily cure it.
In conclusion, Both points have their own positive aspects, History is important for our culture and tradition, whereas science and technology are vital for our future and better lifestyle. In my opinion Science and technology is more important.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the discussion and state a clear preference for science and technology in the introduction and conclusion. The history paragraph gives relevant reasons about cultural identity and learning about past societies, while the medical example supports the practical value of technology. This meets the task, but the two views are not developed equally: the history discussion relies on broad claims about tradition, and the India example is difficult to follow and does not clearly explain why history should be considered the most important subject. To strengthen the response, explain the consequences of learning history more precisely and develop your comparison—for example, why future-oriented benefits outweigh history’s cultural value in your view.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. The progression from the first argument to the second is easy to recognise, and phrases such as “To begin with,” “For instance,” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. This is a coherent arrangement, with some evidence of the more flexible organisation expected at a higher level. However, transitions such as “Go with the second point” sound mechanical, and “Whereas” is awkwardly attached to the opening sentence. Some ideas within the history paragraph run together, particularly the list of what students might learn and the India example. Use more natural transitions and divide or sequence supporting details so each point is clearly connected to the argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “culture and tradition,” “innovations,” “convenient,” and “medical machinery.” There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “historical places” and “detect cancer,” which help make the examples relevant. However, word choice and spelling errors are noticeable and sometimes make phrases difficult to interpret: “more values” does not express the intended comparison, “crusial” is misspelled, and “listing” appears to mean listening. Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “better future for our lifestyle” and “cure it” when referring broadly to cancer. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations, while choosing precise terms such as “valuable,” “quality of life,” and “treat.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “If students are focusing on science…” and a contrast between the two subjects in the conclusion. The main message remains understandable, but control is uneven: several sentences contain errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries. For example, “most of the people's values are connected with history” has an awkward possessive construction, while “all people were follow” and “how many kings were ruled” show problems with verb forms. The opening also uses an incomplete or awkwardly punctuated contrast beginning “Whereas.” Practise building accurate clauses first, then combine them with conjunctions; check subject–verb agreement, tense consistency, and punctuation in longer sentences.
