Student answer (Band 5.0)
some people believes history is one of the mos important schools subjects where other people said that in today's world subject like science and technology are more vital than history. I strongly agree with science and technology are more curicual subject than history.
In my aspect, science and technology are more important because this is our future. science and technology is our next generation. it provides new innovation, new research. It master all the fields in designing, constructing, creating, knowledge of books and all. for instance, recently a tesla company launched a very new inovation of flying car which can flying and run and road having dual system. science and technology is making the world for faster, growing in every sector either it is education or politics or games.
On the other hand history is the subject related to our past. the is the subject where we study about the originof our country, mayter, about our religions, cast, nationality etc. for example in history we studied about prithivi nayaran shah unitied the nepal as whole nation .
In conclusion, there are no more benefits of study about past because past never come. so we should focus in our future which is science and technology. this is the subject which will take people to the growth, success and productivity. it makes the generation far better than now .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You present a clear preference for science and technology, especially in the introduction and conclusion, and you include relevant examples such as Tesla and Prithvi Narayan Shah. However, the discussion is only partial: the benefits of modern subjects are asserted rather than explained in depth, while the case for studying history is mostly a description of what it covers. The claim that there are “no more benefits” to studying the past also dismisses the opposing view without considering how history can help people understand society or avoid past mistakes. The response is 24 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop both sides. Explain each view more fully and support your opinion with specific reasoning.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two subjects, and a conclusion. “On the other hand” clearly signals the shift to history, and “In conclusion” marks the ending. However, progression within paragraphs is limited: several claims about science and technology are listed without clear links or explanation, and the history paragraph ends after one example. Some connections are also unclear, such as “science and technology is our next generation,” which makes the relationship between ideas difficult to follow. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main point, then connect explanations and examples with clear referencing. This would make the overall organisation more coherent and less list-like.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “innovation,” “research,” “origin,” and “nationality,” and the examples show an attempt to discuss both subjects. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings make meaning unclear, such as “curicual,” “mayter,” and “originof.” Phrases including “more vital,” “making the world for faster,” and “no more benefits” are not natural or precise in context. Repetition of “science and technology” and “subject” also restricts flexibility. Build a more accurate range of academic expressions for explaining benefits and comparing subjects, and check spelling and collocations. For example, describe how technology “drives innovation” rather than saying it “provides new innovation.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a few longer structures, including the opening contrast and the example introduced by “for instance,” but most sentences rely on simple patterns, and errors are frequent. Subject–verb agreement is inconsistent in “some people believes” and “science and technology is”; verb forms are faulty in “which can flying and run”; and articles and sentence boundaries are often missing or misplaced. The sentence “the is the subject where we study” is difficult to interpret, while inconsistent capitalisation and punctuation also affect readability. Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, especially agreement, articles, and verb forms, then add subordinate clauses to explain causes and examples. Proofreading each sentence for a clear subject and verb would improve control.
