Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both sides of the discussion: the history paragraph refers to cultural traditions, national freedom and museums, while the science and technology paragraph mentions learning about human and animal functions and future opportunities. Your own view is also present: students should be able to choose subjects according to their interests. However, the response only partially develops the task. The benefits of science and technology are not clearly explained, and the opinion about optional subjects is asserted rather than supported with a reason or example. Some points, such as respecting religion, are not clearly connected to the importance of studying history. Develop each view with a specific explanation or example, and state more directly which subjects you consider most important and why.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, your opinion, and a conclusion. Transitions such as “To commence with,” “However,” and “In conclusion” help signal these stages. Within paragraphs, though, ideas sometimes feel like a list rather than a clear progression. For example, the history paragraph moves from traditions to people who died for the nation and then to museum objects without explaining how each point supports the argument. Some linking is also mechanical, particularly repeated use of “They also.” Improve cohesion by grouping related points, using clearer references, and showing cause and effect between claims and examples. This would make the argument easier to follow without changing its basic structure.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “cultural tradition,” “freedom,” “museum,” “weapons,” and “technology,” so the reader can identify the subject of each paragraph. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make meaning unclear. “Make their future bride” appears to mean “build their future,” while “the perspectives of both the viewers” is not an appropriate way to describe the two sides. There are also spelling and word-form problems, such as “ans” and “childrens.” Aim for precise, natural phrases and check spelling and forms carefully. Replacing repeated general wording such as “get knowledge” with more exact expressions would also make the discussion clearer and more academic.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast introduced by “however” and a relative clause in “people who died to save their nation.” Nevertheless, complex constructions are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to interpret. For example, “technology and science subject are important because it helps” has problems with number agreement, while “Schools did not focus childrens to learn particular subjects” has an unclear verb pattern and sentence structure. Articles, plurals, and verb forms also need attention, as in “history tell people” and “Science and technology is tell people.” Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check agreement and punctuation.
