Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some residents believe that in present, advanced subjects such as Science and technology are more significant than History in school. This essay will examine the both perspectives about the History, science and technology subjects. I strongly agree that Science and technology books play a crucial role in developing a pupil future career with experimental knowledge while History is also significant as it is related to general knowledge.

On the one hand, History subject develops a student career and corelate them with the social affairs. It includes and provides basic assumptions about the earlier Prime Ministers, Chief Ministers and Army Chief affairs of a country and it also highlight whenever they able to communicate with elders they be able to answer about all aspects of historical issues. Schools prefer this subject for promoting a student education level on industrial, quiz and basic knowledge about their country. Mostly undergraduates receive government job offers from military, police and other agencies after studying History as they become able to know about every aspect of their country. For instance, history studies make a student able to understand all aspects of their country relations with others and it provides them knowledge about the different cultures of other countries.

On the other hand, according to my view; Schools provide students only learn about Science and technology subjects as it deals with many beneficial aspects such as concentration, experimentation and confidence. Somehow, studying Science and technology develop a thinking of concentrating while paying attention on a particular topic that how it manufactured, it promotes concentrating ability. Moreover, science and technology subjects also include experimental research which make students to be able to cope with several problem points confidently. For example, Science and technology education can provide a student to be able to answer on international levels questions without any hesitation and promote the students learning skill.

To conclude, I strongly suggest that the schools should consider science and technology subjects more significant due to its international and experimental evaluations.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You discuss both perspectives and state a clear preference for science and technology in the introduction and conclusion. The points about history helping students understand their country and science encouraging experimentation are relevant. However, the discussion is only partly developed: the claim that history leads to government jobs is asserted rather than explained, and the science examples remain broad, such as answering “international levels questions.” The opening also promises to examine both subjects, but the reasons do not fully clarify why one should be considered more important in today’s world. Develop each main point with a specific explanation or example, and make the comparison between the subjects more explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help signal the shift between perspectives, and the central position is easy to locate. Within paragraphs, however, ideas sometimes move by association rather than through a clear sequence. For example, the history paragraph shifts from social affairs to communication with elders, school preferences, government jobs, and international relations. Some linking is also mechanical, with repeated “also” and “Moreover.” Group related points, explain how each supports the paragraph’s main idea, and use clearer references so the reader can follow the reasoning without having to infer connections.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “historical issues,” “experimental research,” “concentration,” and “cultures,” which helps communicate the subject matter. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing. However, the range is limited by repeated general words such as “subjects,” “student,” and “knowledge,” while several choices or combinations sound unnatural and sometimes make the intended meaning unclear. Examples include “develops a student career,” “basic assumptions about” historical figures, and “international levels questions.” Aim for precise academic collocations and vary repeated terms; check whether each phrase expresses the relationship you intend. More accurate vocabulary would make the arguments clearer and more convincing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses beginning with “while,” “as,” and “which,” and the overall meaning is generally recoverable. However, control is inconsistent, especially in longer sentences, and errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. For example, “it also highlight” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “they be able to answer” is missing an appropriate verb form. In “studying Science and technology develop,” the subject and verb do not agree, and “which make students” also needs agreement. Articles, sentence boundaries, and punctuation around phrases such as “according to my view;” need attention. Build accuracy in shorter sentences before extending them with subordinate clauses.
