Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, many people believe that history is one the most important subject in the school because it can teach the student about their ancestors and their cultures and traditions whereas other think that in modern period subjects like science and technology are more important than the history. I also agree with the second statement because science and technology had made the human life more easier and comfortable than before.
To begin with, science and technology teach students about the new inventions in the today's world through which they can gain knowledge about different devices and their design and function which helps them to invent thier own device which can be more easier and convienient for the human life. Another major benefit is that students can be more connected with science which helps to be in touch with health and research sector. This is to say, learners can research about medicines which helps them to discover different ideas which can be useful in the future.
However, history is also equally important for the students in the school as it helps learners to know about their ancestors. This is to say, gaining knowledge about the ancestors helps students to know about their ancestors bravery and never giving up feelings which can helps young people to be brave and never let down their families. Furthermore, children can also learn about the history of the world. For instance, they can study about the formation of different countries and know about how different world wars effect the human life like in Japan still the bomb blast back in the world war effect the human lifestyle as they still face many difficulties because of diseases.
Thus, history provide students different knowledge about their ancestors and the world, however, science and technology helps students to learn more things as it provides many topic which can be very essential for the future like medicines for the upcoming pandemics and the new inventions like robots.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the discussion and state a clear preference for science and technology, explaining that they improve comfort and may support medical research and future inventions. The history paragraph also gives relevant reasons, including learning about ancestors and the effects of world wars. These points meet the task, but they are not developed equally: the claims about inventions and research remain general, while the Japan example is difficult to interpret and does not clearly explain its connection to studying history. To strengthen the response, explain one or two examples in more detail and make the comparison between the subjects more explicit. Your conclusion restates your view, though it could summarise why you consider science and technology more important.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction presents the two views and your position, followed by a paragraph for each view and a concluding paragraph. Linking expressions such as “To begin with,” “However,” and “Thus” help signal the progression. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical, and “This is to say” is repeated to introduce explanations without always adding a clear development. Some references are also unclear, particularly the long sentence about Japan, where the relationship between the bomb, disease, and present-day difficulties is hard to follow. Use a wider range of linking methods, make pronoun references precise, and divide long sentences when they contain several connected claims.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “inventions,” “research sector,” “ancestors,” and “formation of different countries,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “upcoming pandemics.” However, several word-choice and collocation errors reduce precision: “more easier,” “never giving up feelings,” and “the bomb blast back in the world war” do not express the intended meanings naturally. Spelling errors such as “thier” and “convienient” also affect accuracy. Build a more precise range by learning common academic collocations and checking spelling; choose expressions that clearly describe the idea rather than translating it word for word.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including contrast clauses with “whereas” and explanatory clauses with “which,” and the overall meaning is usually clear. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with articles, agreement, verb forms, and sentence construction. For example, “history is one the most important subject” needs an article and plural agreement, while “history provide” should have a singular verb. In “which can helps,” the modal should be followed by the base form. The sentence beginning “For instance” also becomes difficult to control because several ideas are joined together. Review subject–verb agreement, articles, and verb patterns, and use shorter sentences when explaining complex examples.
