Student answer (Band 6.0)

Number of individuals believe that history has the extreme importance among all of the school sucjects. While others hold the opinion that Science and technology are more worthy than History in today's era. This eassy will discuss these both prespectives as each subject plays significant role in a student's development.

Histroy plays a vital role in developing the critical thinking of a student. For instance, if he reads about Ottomon empire , then he would go through their rise as well as their fall. He would conclude that the cause of their rise was when their initial rulers indulged themselves with Islamic principles.Every decison they took was according to islamic guidelines and sunnah of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (p.b.u.h).As a result, Almighty Allah blessed them with an empire, vasting over 3 continents. However, They started to fall when they rejected the Islamic rules.Their sins such as hunger for throne, killing their innocent siblings and corruption of their inefficient bearucrates, led them their own destruction. Therefore, a student would become aware of the consequences of evil through History. He would think that there was a little possibility that hitler might not have falllen if he had witnessed the failure of Nepoleon's attack on russia in winters.Hence , history give student a tool through which he would differentiate between right and wrong.

Speaking about Science and technology, it carries equal importance in growth of student as History does. If a student learns the concept of arcimaede's rule of buoyancy then he might has a chance to improve his swimming skills through managing the buoyancy in water. Moreover, the grip on softwares such as M.s word , Power point will reduce its long-time tasks and give him a chance to present anything in more authentic way.The concept of centripetal and centrifugal force in physics is prime example that how Science gave idea to civil engineers about super-elevation technique. That technique now a days is playing safety role in curve roads.

In conclusion, Both prespective of people are correct. I believe that they must not make each other's point of view inferior or reject it.They must realize that both subject will flourish student in their respective field.History will improve its decsion taking power and Science and technology will help him in innovation.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address both sides of the discussion and give a clear concluding view that History and Science and technology each contribute to students’ development. The examples make your response relevant: the Ottoman Empire illustrates learning from past decisions, while buoyancy, software and road design show practical applications of science. This meets the task well. However, the discussion is not equally developed: the History paragraph is much more detailed, while the Science paragraph lists examples without explaining as fully how they develop students. Some historical claims are also presented as definite causes rather than carefully supported reasoning. To strengthen the response, explain each side with comparable depth and make your own position more explicit earlier, then support it with a reasoned comparison of the subjects’ roles.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each subject, and a conclusion. The progression from the historical example to the science examples is easy to follow, and signposts such as “For instance,” “Moreover,” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. This provides a coherent arrangement. At times, however, linking feels mechanical, and some references are unclear. For example, “That technique” refers back to super-elevation, but the connection to the preceding explanation could be smoother; “it” in the software sentence also has an uncertain reference. The long History paragraph contains several ideas that would be easier to follow if divided or more clearly grouped. Use transitions that show relationships between ideas, and check that pronouns have unmistakable referents.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including terms such as “critical thinking,” “buoyancy,” “centripetal,” “centrifugal force,” and “super-elevation.” These choices help convey subject-specific examples, and the meaning is generally understandable. You also attempt more formal expressions, such as “plays a vital role” and “in today’s era.” However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, including “sucjects,” “prespectives,” “vasting,” and “bearucrates.” Some collocations are unnatural, for example “flourish student” and “playing safety role,” and “more worthy” is imprecise in this context. Aim for accurate, natural combinations and proofread spelling; precise phrasing will make your ideas sound more controlled and academic.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including conditional and subordinate structures such as “if he reads about…” and “when they rejected…”. This gives the response some variety, and the main ideas can generally be understood. However, errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction recur. Examples include “he might has a chance,” “history give student,” and “both subject will flourish student.” The opening also joins two sentences incorrectly: “subjects. While others…” needs clearer punctuation and sentence structure. Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, particularly around sentence openings and abbreviations. Review subject–verb agreement, modal verb patterns, and article use, then proofread each sentence to ensure that complex structures remain grammatically complete.
