Student answer (Band 5.5)
History is significant subject all around the World. In history students are able to learn the past decades and what there ancestors done in the past. History gives the information about battels, old buildings and tell about the past happenings.
It is very good to teach the students about the countries how they are developed and what the problems they had faced during the struggling days. Instead authorities must also try to enhance this kinds of subjects so students know why the old buildings or battels were happened. In history students learn about scientists and their works, how the medicines were produced and how to cure the dicease.
Many people thinks it is waste of time to learn about the past era, they think science and technology are crucial nowadays which are not fully right. Yes it is modern era and everyone wants to develop something new which is helpful in the daily life of humans. But history is also important, it develops the mindste of the children and make able to students to represent their country and culture in front of the World. There are many things in history which are related to modern studies like how old computers work instead of new one's.
In my opinions, Government must involved in these kind of subjects so the students and the teachers as well also take interests in their culture and old people and the objects. If students know about their history and ancestors, they can represent it in front of foreigners which make good impressions infront of the World.
Parents should also keep helping their children to learn about the old buldings, poets, objects, battels and famous people because it is very good to know for every child about his culture and country.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address the importance of History and refer to the opposing view that Science and technology matter in modern life. Your own position is also apparent: you argue that History remains important for understanding culture and representing a country. However, the discussion is uneven. The case for Science and technology is briefly acknowledged as helping people develop useful things, but it is not explored or supported with a specific example. Several points about History—such as learning about battles, buildings, scientists and ancestors—are listed rather than explained in depth. To strengthen the response, develop both sides with clear reasons and relevant examples, then connect those examples directly to your opinion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable paragraph structure, moving from the value of History to the opposing view and then to your opinion and a recommendation for parents. This gives the reader a basic sense of organisation. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the second paragraph shifts from national development to old buildings and then to medicines without showing how these points connect. Linking phrases such as “Instead” and “But” are used, but the relationships between ideas are not always precise, and several points repeat the claim that History helps students understand or represent their culture. Group related reasons together and use clearer topic sentences and references so each paragraph develops one main idea.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “ancestors,” “culture,” “develop,” and “represent,” and the reader can generally understand your main message. However, the range is limited and some word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which can make meaning less clear. For example, “battels” appears repeatedly where “battles” is intended, “dicease” should be “disease,” and “old buildings or battels were happened” is not a natural way to describe historical events. Phrases such as “modern era” and “daily life” are appropriate, but ideas often rely on repeated general words such as “important” and “good.” Build precision by learning topic-specific collocations and checking spelling and word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a contrast with “Yes, it is modern era … But history is also important.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors occur in basic sentence patterns as well as longer clauses. Examples include “History is significant subject,” “Many people thinks,” and “it develops the mindste … and make able to students,” where articles, agreement, and sentence construction need attention. Some clauses are difficult to follow, such as “what the problems they had faced during the struggling days.” Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and complete clause structures before adding complexity. Clearer sentence boundaries and careful proofreading would also make your ideas easier to understand.
