Student answer (Band 5.0)
In this statement talks about a people opinion that some people say that History is most important of school subjects but some people say that science and technology are more important than History. I think both views are extremely right so, i will explain the statement in the following.
Nowadays, science and technology are more important because it is very important in our life but also History is very important because History knowledge is more important. So, firstly i will discuss about History. I think history is one of the most important school subjects because it is more important for new generation if we cannot provide information about history they were did not known about ancestors they do not know how to sacrifice our forefathers. Therefore, History is one of the most important subject.
Furthermore, science and technology are more important because it is very neccessary for modern era so science and tehnology in todays world subjects. Therefore, it is more important for school subjects because adults in starting taught about technology and science. So, they do not face different problems becuase in todays world are modern. In modern era, science and technology is extremely important. Therefore, this opinion is right because in modern era science and technology are very neccessary.
In conclusion, both views are correct because in today era science and technology are more important and History is one of the most important it is extremely needy for new generation. In my opinion both views are correct because both are important.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You address both sides of the question and state that both subjects are important, with separate discussion of History and science and technology. The point about learning from ancestors gives a relevant reason for studying History, but it is not clearly explained, and the science-and-technology paragraph mainly repeats that these subjects are necessary in the modern era rather than developing a specific benefit or example. Your opinion is present, though “both views are correct” does not explain how you weigh their importance. The response contains 236 words, so it is 14 words below the required minimum; the 17 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Add relevant explanation and an example to develop each view and make your position more precise.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify the main stages of your answer. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and several linking expressions are repeated mechanically, including “Therefore,” “So,” and “because.” Some connections are unclear: “History knowledge is more important” does not explain the relationship between the claim and the reason that follows. The conclusion also repeats the introduction rather than drawing the discussion together. To improve, organise each body paragraph around one clear reason, explain it in sequence, and use a wider range of accurate links or pronouns to show how ideas relate.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary such as “ancestors,” “forefathers,” “modern era,” and “science and technology,” so the reader can follow the general subject of the essay. However, the range is limited and key words are repeated frequently, especially “important,” “modern,” and “History.” Several word choices or collocations are awkward or inaccurate, such as “History knowledge,” “adults in starting taught about technology,” and “extremely needy.” There are also spelling errors, including “neccessary,” “tehnology,” and “becuase.” These issues make some ideas less clear. Build a small set of accurate topic phrases and check spelling; choose precise expressions rather than repeating general claims about importance.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, and the response includes some subordinate clauses, for example, “because it is very important in our life.” However, the range is limited, and attempts at more complex structures are often faulty. Errors in sentence formation and verb forms appear in “In this statement talks about a people opinion” and “they were did not known about ancestors.” Agreement and articles are also inconsistent, as in “science and technology is” and “one of the most important subject.” Capitalisation and punctuation need attention too, including lowercase “i” and the comma in “so, i will explain.” Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clear supporting clause, then check verbs, agreement, articles, and punctuation.
