Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some people argue that, in the modern era, science and technology should be considered the most important subjects, while other believe that history has more importance as a school subject. This essay will discuss both views, as I believe science and technology are beneficial subjects because of the revolution in global innovations.
On the one hand, history is a valuable subject, as it teaches about the gradual changes of global civilization in the previous years. It delivers the stories about the previous scenarios, which develops student's idea about history, sacrifices, struggles, and hard works. For example, I studied the history of independent war of Bangladesh, happened in 1971. I got to know about the sacrifices by the warriors, struggles of the general people, plot of the war, and nine months of hard work to achieve the independence. As a result, I was able to learn about the civilization of my country by studying history in school, which is very important.
On the other hand, human life is fully dependent on technology and science at present. If a student do not study these subjects, they will suffer on using the modern technologies not only today but also in future, which will keep them behind from others. As a result they will struggle in their life. For example, artificial intelligence, which is a science innovation will rule the world in the upcoming days. If a student does not gain knowledge about it, in their school, they may not be able to utilize its features properly in future. Therefore, they will have to use the conventional methods in problem solving, which will be a huge disadvantage from the students using AI because AI is a reliable and faster option than conventinal methods. If he studies this in his school life, he will be benefited in future, as he will possess the core idea. So, science and technologies should be considered as the most important subjects.
In conclusion, although history subject has several benefits, science and tecnology are more important subjects, because of their core knowledge, which is beneficial for the modern revolution both at present and future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both perspectives and state a clear preference for science and technology in the introduction and conclusion. The examples are relevant: your account of Bangladesh’s independence war illustrates how history can teach about sacrifice and national development, while AI supports your argument about contemporary skills. This meets the task well, but the two views are not developed equally. The history paragraph explains its educational value, whereas the science argument relies heavily on the prediction that AI “will rule the world” and gives less attention to other reasons these subjects matter. To strengthen the response further, explain the broader benefits of scientific learning and qualify predictions with more precise support.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow, and the examples generally appear where readers expect them. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical, particularly through repeated use of “As a result,” “If,” and “Therefore.” Some references are also unclear: in “If he studies this,” it is not immediately clear whether “this” means AI or science and technology generally. The science paragraph contains several linked consequences that could be grouped more selectively. Use a wider range of transitions and make pronoun references explicit to improve flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “civilization,” “sacrifices,” “artificial intelligence,” and “conventional methods,” and the meaning is generally clear. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “core idea” and “global innovations,” but some combinations are imprecise or unnatural: “previous scenarios,” “hard works,” and “a science innovation” do not express the intended ideas idiomatically. Repetition of “important,” “subjects,” and “struggle” also limits flexibility. Spelling slips such as “conventinal” and “tecnology” reduce accuracy. Aim for precise collocations and check spelling; for example, describe historical events as “past events” and refer to “scientific advances.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex structures, including conditional sentences such as “If a student does not gain knowledge about it…” and a relative clause beginning “which is a science innovation.” Most ideas remain understandable, and the sentence forms show some range. Some grammatical errors persist, however. In “other believe,” the plural subject needs a plural verb; “If a student do not study” also has subject–verb disagreement. The phrase “which develops student's idea” has an unclear singular possessive and agreement, while “the history of independent war of Bangladesh, happened in 1971” is not correctly formed as a sentence structure. Review agreement, possessives, and clause construction, and proofread long sentences to ensure each clause is complete and clearly connected.
