Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some individuals argue that history subject should be taught in school, While other oppose that subjects like science and technology are more vital than history. From my perspective, history should be taught in school which is beneficial for students to learn about past but it should be taught in limited and more foucs on science and technology are important in today's modren time.

On the one hand, history subject is important for students to learn and gain knowledge about the past because students who studying must have knowledge about their own country at least. The students that learn history they will know very well about like what happend in earliest centuries and, they will know about the patriots who fought for their country and, also about the world how people fight for their freedom in their time so this will help students to acknowledge about their country national heroes. For example, in pakistan every school taught the history subject where we learn about our countries patriot such as Quaid-e-Azam who fight for the freedom to free their countries people and many other.

On the other hand, history is important but science and technology are most important, on the grounds that technology and science are growing day-by-day. Technology is almost everywhere so it necessary that academies should more focus on the technology and science than history. many students are interested in tech and science because science tell about the everything that are exist in life like animal humans or even physics that's very interesting and import for us to know about the things that we are doing like motion force and speed. For exapmle, technology subject give awareness students that how mobile can communicate with each other from different cities and many other thing, while science will help us to understand the nature of world and about the biologu of living organism which is very important.

In conclusion, history is good subject that student have a knowledge about the past. However, technology and science are most important because these subjects help students to learn about AI and Data Science which is most of the people using these nowaday's.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You discuss both views and state a position: history has value, but science and technology deserve greater emphasis today. The two body paragraphs give relevant reasons, including learning about national figures and understanding scientific concepts and communication technology. The Pakistan example makes the history argument more concrete. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained: for instance, the claim that technology is “almost everywhere” could be linked more clearly to the skills students need in future study or work. The conclusion repeats your preference but introduces AI and data science without developing why these examples support it. Develop each main reason with a clearer explanation or specific example, and keep your position consistent and explicit throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the discussion. Within paragraphs, however, several ideas are joined in long chains, especially the history paragraph’s repeated use of “and,” which makes the progression less easy to follow. Some references are also unclear, such as “this will help students” after several different points. Use shorter sentences to separate reasons and examples, and make pronouns refer unmistakably to a specific idea. More varied, precise links between claims and supporting examples would make the organisation feel less mechanical.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “patriots,” “freedom,” “motion,” “force,” and “Data Science.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “national heroes” and “living organism.” However, the range is limited by repeated general words such as “important,” “students,” and “learn,” and some word choices or collocations are inaccurate: “acknowledge about,” “history subject,” and “technology subject” are not natural in these contexts. Spelling errors such as “foucs,” “modren,” “exapmle,” and “biologu” also reduce accuracy. Build a wider set of natural academic collocations and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “because,” “who,” and “while,” and the overall meaning is generally understandable. However, some sentence structures are faulty or overloaded. For example, “students who studying must have knowledge” needs a correctly formed verb phrase, while “the students that learn history they will know” combines two subjects unnecessarily. There are also errors in agreement and articles, as in “science tell” and “a knowledge,” and punctuation is inconsistent in long sentences. Practise forming relative clauses and checking subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries. Breaking the longest sentences into shorter units will help you show more reliable control while retaining complex structures.
