Student answer (Band 5.5)

Since my early tennagehood i hated all the literature related subjects among which History which was more challenging for me because i didn t knew what s the purpose of being taught such a subject especially as a scientific branch student .

Some people think that History is the most important Subject in school while others think that Science and technology are far more important .

On the One hand, Science and technology enthausiasits argue that our taught history is manipulated as the winner always tell his own version of the story .

Moreover , in this era of technology and inventions Science and tech jobs matters the most which will always bring a reliable job and a secure future for its attendants .

So for these people , Targeting the future is far more important than looking behind especially in this fast era .

On the other hand , others argue that history is the key to interprete todays world cause evreything is related .

Furthermore , History as a subject represents our Culture,Identity, and Values which will be never be changed .

So history is what makes us a community and people of the same country .

Personally, I believe that both views are partially right as all subject taught in school are equally equivalent in their importance, but i lean more towards highlighting the importance of history as i havent understood the importnace of history in our lives until i have faced the real world where i have understood that evreything is really related and moved by politics which is influenced by history as todays wars and alliances are the major keypoints of our planets face .

Today, Trade-routes :cannels and pipelines represents the most powerfull weapon of our world tkae for example iran war. Trade-routes possesion is mainly related to historical facts and events .

To conclude, all subjects matters and have an importance even history can and will influence our lives even inderictly . Thus , learning such subjects from a young age remains important even if we don't understand their true value at that time .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You discuss both perspectives and give a personal view, so the response addresses the main parts of the prompt. The contrast between future-oriented science and technology and history’s role in explaining culture and politics is relevant. Your personal example about trade routes, pipelines, and conflict also begins to support your preference for history. However, several claims remain broad or unclear: for example, the claim that science and technology jobs “will always bring a reliable job” is not qualified or illustrated, and the reference to the “Iran war” is difficult to interpret. Develop each side with a clearer explanation and a specific, accurate example, and state your position more directly before the conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, your opinion, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “To conclude” help readers follow the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes weak, and the opinion paragraph combines several ideas—politics, wars, alliances, and trade routes—without clearly showing how each connects to the main point. Some linking is also mechanical, with repeated “So” and “Moreover/Furthermore.” Use clearer topic sentences and make the relationship between each claim and its example explicit. More precise referencing would also help readers understand what “such subjects” and “everything” refer to.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “manipulated,” “secure future,” “culture,” “identity,” “alliances,” and “trade routes.” These choices show an effort to discuss both education and current affairs. However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural combinations are noticeable, such as “enthausiasits,” “keypoints,” “powerfull weapon,” and “trade-routes possesion.” Some expressions are also too vague for the argument, including “fast era” and “our planets face.” Check spelling carefully and choose collocations that express your meaning precisely. For instance, explain what makes trade routes strategically important rather than calling them a weapon without further clarification.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple statements and attempts at longer, complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “while,” “because,” and “as.” This gives the response some structural variety. However, errors are frequent, and several complex sentences are difficult to follow. Examples include “I didn’t knew,” “jobs matters,” and “which will be never be changed”; these show problems with verb forms, subject–verb agreement, and word order. Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also inconsistent, particularly in the long sentence beginning “Personally, I believe.” Practise checking one sentence at a time for a clear subject and verb, correct tense and agreement, and appropriate punctuation. Breaking long sentences into shorter units would improve accuracy and readability.
