Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, Some people argue that history is the most important subject in school, and others believe that in today's modern world technological subject like science is more important then history. In my opinion, both of these statements are right on their own perspective. In this essay, I will discuss both views.
In the one hand, those who believe that history is the most important subject are quite right in certain way. History is one of the subject that every students should show their interest in. Because, If you read history you can know about some great people in the past, For instance, You can learn about some great scientists and political persons. For example, here in Bangladesh, by learning history in school, we know about Shekh mujibur Rahman, who was one of greatest political leader who fought for our country's independence. we now know how great he was and we still admire him a lot in our country.
One the other hand, Those who believe that in this technological era students should give more interest on subject like science. Because, in today's situation, It's so hard to find a job in other sectors than science. Technological jobs nowadays have more demand. For example, Nowadays, Computer related jobs are getting quite popular and demanding. People who have better experience on those subjects are getting paid more than other jobs. That is why, Students in school should focus on technological subjects more rather than on history.
In conclusion, I believe that people who think history is more important subject are right on certain level but this is not practical in Today's generation. In the contrary those who believe that technological subjects are important are completely right.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both sides of the discussion and give a view: history helps students understand influential people and national independence, while science-related subjects are linked to employment opportunities. The Bangladesh example about Sheikh Mujibur Rahman makes the history argument more concrete. However, your position is not fully consistent: you initially say both views are right, but the conclusion says technological subjects are “completely right” and history is “not practical” today. The employment argument is also asserted rather than explained in depth, and the response does not consider why historical understanding might remain valuable in a technology-focused society. Make your opinion clear from the introduction and develop each main reason with explanation and a relevant example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. Phrases such as “For example” help signal supporting details, and the reader can generally follow the contrast between the two positions. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical: several sentences begin with “Because,” “For example,” or “Nowadays,” and the conclusion repeats the contrast without resolving the mixed position stated earlier. Some links are also inaccurate, including “In the one hand” and “In the contrary,” which interrupt the flow. Use a wider range of accurate transitions and make each paragraph develop one clear point in a logical sequence, with the conclusion directly reflecting the opinion established at the start.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “technological era,” “political leader,” “independence,” and “demanding,” so the main ideas are understandable. There is some attempt to express concepts beyond basic everyday language. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, such as “technological subject,” “give more interest on,” and “getting paid more than other jobs.” “Great” and “important” are also repeated without much variation. These choices sometimes make the meaning less precise, even though the overall message remains clear. Build a bank of topic-specific expressions and check how verbs and adjectives naturally combine with nouns, especially when discussing education, employment, and historical significance.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including relative clauses such as “who was one of greatest political leader” and a conditional structure beginning “If you read history.” This shows an effort to vary sentence forms, and the central meaning is usually recoverable. However, complex attempts are often faulty, and errors occur frequently in agreement, articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries. Examples include “one of the subject,” “every students,” and “who was one of greatest political leader.” Several sentences are also fragments or incorrectly punctuated, such as “Because, If you read history…” and the sentence beginning “Because, in today’s situation…”. Practise accurate clause construction and review subject–verb agreement, articles, and punctuation before adding further complexity.
