Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover both the current layout and the proposed redevelopment, and your overview identifies the main change: the outdoor courts are removed as the centre gains facilities. You also correctly locate the pool, gym, seating and reception in the existing plan, and mention the leisure pool, expanded gym, dance studios, sports hall, café and additional changing rooms. Some details are less fully or accurately reported: the new leisure pool is on the west side, not specifically the northwest, and the sports hall is east of the seating rather than in front of the café and changing room. You also omit the sports shop and do not clearly state that the original pool, seating and reception remain in place. More precise comparisons would strengthen the summary.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction and overview are followed by separate descriptions of the present and future plans. This makes the main stages easy to identify. You use basic linking expressions such as “Overall,” “while” and “Moreover” to connect information, and the paragraphing supports the comparison. However, some links are awkward or unclear, particularly “which door will open in leisure pool” and the final sequence describing the café, changing room and sports hall. Repeated use of “and” also makes several details feel like a list rather than a clearly ordered account. Grouping the future facilities by west, centre and east, and using clearer location references, would improve progression and cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for describing plans, including “layout,” “outdoor courts,” “leisure pool,” “seating” and “dance studios,” so the reader can generally understand the facilities being compared. There is also some useful variation in location language, such as “northwest,” “southwest” and “east side.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or repetitive: “rooms” is too general for the range of facilities, “facilities will be install” is not a natural phrase, and “in the front of” is imprecise for a map description. Spelling errors such as “outdooe,” “beisde” and “Nowaday” also reduce control. Use precise facility names and standard phrases such as “will be added” and “to the east of.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more connected sentences, for example, “The seating is the east of pool and changing room is the west of the pool,” and you use future forms to describe the planned changes. However, errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction are common enough to make some relationships difficult to follow. Examples include “will totally changed,” “many other room will be build,” and “the gym will be expand”; these need forms such as “will change,” “rooms will be built” and “will be expanded.” There are also missing articles and awkward clause structures, as in “in university sports centre has.” Practise accurate passive constructions for planned changes and check each sentence for a clear subject and verb.
